THE BATCHWORTH BOAT RALLY, RICKMANSWORTH May 17
THE BATCHWORTH BOAT RALLY, RICKMANSWORTH

This rally was started in 2024 when at very short notice the huge Rickmansworth Festival was cancelled. The Waterspace team decided to keep the boat gathering but as a much smaller event. With some enthusiastic parters it was a huge success in 2024.

So Next year as an appropriate "Theme" for the times we are Calling all GUCCCo, FMC, Severn & Canal boats.particularly those built in 1935 as next year the Batchworth Boat Rally would like to see them all gathering at Batchworth in Rickmansworth to celebrate their 90 years.
The rally will take place on 17/18th May, two weeks after the cavalcade at Little Venice.
Please put the date in your calendar for next year and drop us an email then we will make sure to include you on the mailing list when bookings open in January.

So, as it was stated on TV yesterday by a Jewish spokesperson of some sort (also probably an Israeli spokesperson) that 90% of the Jews in this country are also Zionists, so support Israeli actions, rather suggests that those who have in the past and today claim that UK Jews have undue influence is all sorts of areas just might have a point. I suspect that if the UK Jews ensured those that portray themselves as their leaders were not Zionists and did not try to promote Zionist propaganda they might find they receive far less hostility. I wonder if UK Jews experience any more hostility from the non-Jewish population that the Muslims do from the non-Muslim population in the UK - excluding hostility from Muslims who the Jewish Zionists have been stirring up for 80 odd years.

'Normally' the backboiler would heat the radiators. You can if you pay £700 for a fridge, buy a 'cheap 230v conversion' and it will not be anywhere near as efficient.

I once invented a canal board game like that, but this was in my Biology teaching days and it was the alimentary canal (!). It was called 'Guts.' Progress depended on answering a question about the point where a food item had reached, but the high (or rather low) point came at the end, where to exit and win one had to throw a number two..... There was some constipation involved. As far as I know it was still in use several years after I left the school.

Standard calorifiers have heating coils rated at around 1kW (similar for twin-coils with one on heating and one on engine), these typically raise water temperature by about 15C/hour -- so to get from a cold tank to a decently hot one you need to run either engine or heating for at least a couple of hours, maybe more depending how cold the tank was and how hot you want the water. A typical immersion heater is also 1kW, so this will heat the water up just as slowly... https://www.perseverancenb.com/post/how-to-measure-the-calorifier

360 Wh for the fridge is actually less than I thought! And I was assuming that in winter, my stove would be running 24/7 anyway and lots of boats seems to also use the back boiler to heat the hot water.

Be very careful turning a fridge off overnight. I don’t see the point of having a fridge if you’re gonna turn it off for 8 or 9 hours at a stretch and warm your food up for several hours a day. (Or night). It’s very risky from a food poisoning pov.

Cheers🍷🍷 Thanks. We’re 2, 300ah lithiums, there’s 1.8kw of solar, and the usual Victron gubbins, so I can turn the multiplus on and off remotely, at least I’m pressure I can….🤞Many thanks for the advice 🍷🍷
