This might fall flat, but it could be fun.

Im going to post a photo, if somone guesses where it is then they can post a photo next.

Could be a new or archival one, and as difficult or as easy as you like, but show the place so folks have a fair go at figuring it out.

Next correct guess posts an image and so on.

You should have used Google Lens for the correct answer.

As far west as you can take a boat from the main system, but there is a restored section in water beyond.

Yep. Picture taken from my boat, ten years ago. You know the answer, but for everyone else, it is the blocked portal of Norwood Tunnel, on the Chesterfield Canal. Your turn!

Well, as far west as one can now take a boat on the Chesterfield Canal - but not the furthest west on the main system...

Furthest navigable canal west is probably this:

Britain slopes to the north west more dramatically than people think. Edinburgh is further west than Cardiff. The furthest west navigable Great Britain canal is probably going to be the Crinan. In the UK it will be one in Northern Ireland.

What about Exeter Canal which is slightly further west?

Also the short length of Bude Canal which is a lot further west?

Which is due north of Penzance and there are no canals down there.

Whats left of the Bude canal is little more than a basin, but I did forget about the Exeter canal.

Only the bridge prevents access to the rest.

I launch up by the A39, gives me just over 1.5 miles and two locks🤔

The Bude canal is definitely more than just the basin. There's a few miles and a few locks as well.

Edited to add: posted at the same time as @GUMPY

If it was clear of any restrictions, you could get as far as the bottom basin of the Marhamchurch inclined plane, been a long time since I last walked it.

Does the A39 block it?
