THE BATCHWORTH BOAT RALLY, RICKMANSWORTH May 17
THE BATCHWORTH BOAT RALLY, RICKMANSWORTH

This rally was started in 2024 when at very short notice the huge Rickmansworth Festival was cancelled. The Waterspace team decided to keep the boat gathering but as a much smaller event. With some enthusiastic parters it was a huge success in 2024.

So Next year as an appropriate "Theme" for the times we are Calling all GUCCCo, FMC, Severn & Canal boats.particularly those built in 1935 as next year the Batchworth Boat Rally would like to see them all gathering at Batchworth in Rickmansworth to celebrate their 90 years.
The rally will take place on 17/18th May, two weeks after the cavalcade at Little Venice.
Please put the date in your calendar for next year and drop us an email then we will make sure to include you on the mailing list when bookings open in January.

Ultra-Crap-Idea-Ian (noun) Pronunciation: /ˈʌl.trə kræp aɪˈdiː.ə ˈiː.ən/ Etymology: A satirical evolutionary leap combining absolute intellectual snobbery with the compulsive urge to label every alternative suggestion as garbage. Definition An individual who actually possesses genuine knowledge, yet uses it exclusively to shout down everyone else's suggestions by declaring them to be absolute trash. A person who views all brainstorming sessions as a personal stage to showcase their supposed superiority through sarcastic critiques and an unwavering belief that their own thoughts are golden while everyone else's are worthless. Key Characteristics The Garbage Label: Instantly dismisses any proposition offered by peers with a heavy sigh, an eye roll, and the proclamation that it is "the single most profoundly idiotic concept ever conceived by humankind." Sarcastic Wibknemohis: Weaponizes their actual expertise through biting sarcasm, making sure everyone knows that they know better, and that your idea belongs in a landfill. Monopolized Genius: While they possess smarts, they refuse to build on anyone else's thoughts, preferring to trash everything in sight so they can stand alone on a pile of discarded suggestions. 😉

SOME insurers, by no means all, and possibly no longer, but checking the policy would be a good idea.

It isn't a great conspiracy, favoured by the antisemites. There are a lot of people in this country with ties to Israel. The Israeli state works closely with them to act as a lobby. The state has (Insert Party Name Here) Friends of Israel groups as affiliates of most parties, which give free junkets to Israel for politicians. It is a mostly white, Western style state in the Middle East, so serves a useful role in stomping on any other country that is getting out of line and threatening the oil, or transport links. Israel used to be very good at projecting a benign image. Only democracy in the area, LGBT friendly, most moral army in the world. Only now, after three years of genocide has the image cracked. It used to be the pain of speaking our against Israel wasn't worth it and it was peripheral, so the great and good were fine with it. Destroyed career and marginalisation were the result, so why risk it? Everyone else in public life does the same, so it is normal. Now, not so much.

In 2011/12 a serious drought caused the Tring Summit to be closed. The water level dropped a good eighteen inches and in order to protect the marina stop planks were placed under the nearby Newground bridge. They were useless because, according to Waterways, the bed of the canal was uneven.

Probably too big for Poste Restante. Perhaps buy via eBay and get it delivered to one of their locations near you, newsagent, One Stop, or such. Like this one

So, i need a new Excellence Cassette delivered to a Wharf, seem to have had various responses, but not one who will agree to deliver, and advise time. One asked me who is my courier, actually I assumed they have a courier. Im going to try again today, but any advice appreciated. Is it OK to use Poste Restsnte, I tried it on one company and he said we dont deliver to PO box!

When I had heaters on the boat the systems were drained and the heaters were placed one in the engine room and one by the calorifier just in case. They were set on their highest setting and controlled by an external stat which was also switchable remotely. It minimised the use of electricity. For a deep cold spell I could also switch the Eberspacher on remotely for a few hours a day thus keeping the boat well above freezing. Don't forget that according to some on here in order to comply with your insurance your heaters must be specified for marine use.
