THE BATCHWORTH BOAT RALLY, RICKMANSWORTH May 17
THE BATCHWORTH BOAT RALLY, RICKMANSWORTH

This rally was started in 2024 when at very short notice the huge Rickmansworth Festival was cancelled. The Waterspace team decided to keep the boat gathering but as a much smaller event. With some enthusiastic parters it was a huge success in 2024.

So Next year as an appropriate "Theme" for the times we are Calling all GUCCCo, FMC, Severn & Canal boats.particularly those built in 1935 as next year the Batchworth Boat Rally would like to see them all gathering at Batchworth in Rickmansworth to celebrate their 90 years.
The rally will take place on 17/18th May, two weeks after the cavalcade at Little Venice.
Please put the date in your calendar for next year and drop us an email then we will make sure to include you on the mailing list when bookings open in January.

Oh so it is! How did I manage to miss that? Seems a daft change to me, but at least I can now use it. Thank you David

Yep, you've hit the nail on the head there. It leads to a toxicity and normilisation of rudeness and abruptness that definitely overspills into discussions across the whole forum which I don't care for....and neither do new menbers judging by the decline in forum users in the 7 years I have been using it. I have no interest in discussing it, nor do I care what other members opinions are on it. I'd go one step further and remove the politics section all together and keep the ban on discussing it elsewhere on the forum as I really don't see what place it has on an CWDF....there's plenty of other places in the internet to talk about politics. Just had a quick look at the current 'new content' window and 50% are posts about politics for goodness sake. But removing politics was discussed and even voted for not that long ago and unfortunately the consensus was to keep it.

They are supposed to be stealth. Maybe they landed on your street?! If you go outside and bump into something you can't see, that'll be one. Which means they would have to hang around somewhere, burning fuel and circling for the tankers to catch up. Again, not making a lot of sense.

Alternator "W" output?
Alternator "W" output?

ColinJB replied to ColinJB's topic in BMC

All above interesting gents. Finally got back to my boat. Treated myself to a reasonable quality clamp multi-meter with noise cancelling DC current measuring ability. Started boat engine. Had to remove a lot of sticky black tape to get at alternator output cable with clamp meter. Reads 12A at idle. Rises to about 15A when I add a bit of throttle. I think the Bosch unit is rated at 90A. Okay. That probably maximum possible with enormous RPM. Is the above good enough? 12-15A quite a lot of "umpf". Should I be doing better? Previous comments about a winding having failed still seem possible. Might explain why still absolutely nothing on the now properly identified W terminal. Inclined to treat the boat to a new alternator. Keep current (no pun intended) as a spare.

Did they? Or did they go to Diego Garcia? Will we ever know their whereabouts?

According to LBC this morning, the bombers were scrambled at very short notice. The in-flight refuelling transport aircraft that are needed to allow them to cross the Atlantic, were not, as their tanks had to be loaded with fuel before they could follow them.

It's not his thing. It is the membership's thing. They decide policy, democratically. Not the leader. It's how they work. So, a country is formed, with the foundation that only a particular ethnic/religious group has priority. Any person of that group can immigrate there, no questions asked. Any person descended of the inhabitants and not of that religion/ancestry who moves, or is driven out can never come back. File off the serial numbers and does that sound just a tiny bit racist?
