Historic Boats for sale online

Although it looks like a lovely boat, I'm always amazed by the amount of boats on Apollo Duck that are for sale in the upper reaches of most folks budget, that basically just have a bucket for shitting in, like Hare seems to.

Can you imagine having £70k in your back pocket yet taking a shit in a bucket?

A cassette is only a posh bucket.

Surely you are not recommending a...................................................................pump out? icecream.gif

I'll get my popcorn.

Is any one actually looking for a boat on here, or are we all dreaming of things we "could" have or just keeping an eye on the current situation on historic boats?!?

Personally, I'm looking, but with out any money... so i guess I'm not really looking!!! :-/

It's more a 'shop window' of what's on offer. We all like 'looking', just as I like looking at un-affordable cars and motorbikes. Been doing that since I first looked in a toy shop window. Earth movers from Mecanno and the like - or the bakers cream cakes . . . managed to have a few of those.

Well we were seriously looking for a year and a half, so I have been in that place.

However now owning two each needing quite a lot of work and money expended on them, I guess I'm very much now only watching out of interest.

What I can say is that in at least 8 months of looking only about 4 possible candidate boats for our needs were ever on open market, so it is not (as I'm sure you know!) the least bit like looking for a second-hand modern boat. I find it very interesting to hear people discuss those that do come up for market.

As an aside, one of the most positive things I am seeing at the moment is some of the boats going to enthusiastic young owners, rather than us pensioners! If Facebook tells the truth Effingham's nw owner is only just about to turn 21. If these boats are to be loved in the decades ahead what more could we want?

Oh great, so now rather than us mere mortals being able to use this thread to actually know what's about we have to be part of some secret group to know about boats for sale.

I've enjoyed this thread until today.

This is one of the many reasons why I left the H.N.B.C. and will not rejoin. I do not like secrets, it is the starting point of elitism captain.gif

edit = it was this thread that made me aware of EFFINGHAM being for sale, but clearly it is the one that got away - from me anyway.
