Braunston Historic Boat Event 24th and 25th June - That's this weekend.

It is, I think, somewhat of a tradition that a thread is created for this event each year it is held.

I may have missed it, but can't find anything using Forum search.

So I'll kick this one off, but I'm happy to have it merged with any existing thread(s) should it be a duplicated.

So who is going to be there please?

We look forward to meeting anybody who is.

Unfortunately not this year as we have to go to a wedding near Exmouth on the weekend.

Just a word of warning in case you haven't been there before. I fixed a boiler there yesterday and the local traffic there was diabolical, so aim to get there in plenty of time!

We had the privilege, and it was, of finding a legit mooring just above the first lock, on our last year of canal boating in 2017.

Always enjoyed Braunston when passing through but the historic boat event was really very special in years when so much was special.

Good to hear that Fulbourne is back in the water.

Indeed, although I am guessing BELFAST may still be some way from being water-tight.

There are a fair number of historics already here, but an awful lot still needed to meet the numbers suggested to me by the organisers a few days ago.

I was speaking with the owner of Hinoria (the stern end of Uranus) who told me he was going to Braunston.

Can I ask why is Hasty allowed when it is new

it’s a replica as you probably know. Isn’t part of the engine or boiler from Monarch too?

I guess it’s less new than parts of some of these historics hulls?

\for the Wirking Boat anoraks amongst you, it has been noted that there are at least 11 "Large Northwich" motor boats present.

Considering when they were built, back around 1936, only 38 were made in total, that really is a quite surprising result.

Flamingo (ex Letchworth)

Nuneaton
Nutfield

Otley

Paddingon

Purton
Renfrew

Stanton

Tadworth

Towcester

Whitby
