Jerra
Fireworks no longer seem to be something thought of as merely for Bonfire night. I have seen them used for birthday parties, religious festivals, celebrations of all kinds.

The law allows for this; You must not set off fireworks between 11pm and 7am, except for: Bonfire Night, when the cut off is midnight New Year’s Eve, Diwali and Chinese New Year, when the cut off is 1am You can only buy fireworks (including sparklers) from registered sellers for private use on these dates: 15 October to 10 November 26 to 31 December 3 days before Diwali and Chinese New Year At other times you can only buy fireworks from licensed shops. But you can buy them and keep them knowing you have a birthday you want to celebrate, which is what I assume folk do when they want fireworks at other times. Also can't be sold to under 18's, so kids can't get them. In the same way that it is impossible for kids to get fags, or booze, as you will have noticed. frangar
Hopefully on Nov 5 the people will finish what guy fawkes started and blow Parliament sky high with all the MP’s inside it and we might actually progress as a country. That would be a firework display well worth watching.

Guy Fawkes (Religious extremist and terrorist) target was King James I and the gunpower was under the House of Lords. As for Fawkes he was not burnt at the stake, but broke his neck when he fell off the scaffold where he was due to be hanged, drawn and quartered. James Sharpe, professor of history at the University of York, has described Guy Fawkes "the last man to enter Parliament with honest intentions"
Hudds Lad
local youths launched a rocket at the petrol station down the road last week, so presumably they'd stored it since last year or firework sellers aren't that scrupulous?
