Curiously the 'grief that they had from terrorist groups' was in fact from the Zionists (both Lehi (Stern Gang) and Irgun). Now we are supposed to think that the Zionists are simply a benign group of nationalists. It's a bit like Hamas, or even our very own Continuity IRA claiming,"We used to be terrorists, but we are better now". The lineage from the current day party of Government in Israel, the Likud Party, goes directly back to Irgun, who were terrorists, through Menachem Begin. They seem to pride themselves on installing war criminals (Ariel Sharon) or even terrorists themselves (Menachem Begin) as national 'leaders'. They commemorate terrorist acts (bombing the King David Hotel) by putting up plaques to celebrate it; perhaps the IRA should be allowed to put up a plaque to celebrate the bombing of the Grand Hotel at Brighton, it would be the same mentality.
