  1. Yes, Craig but others knew what was going on. Don't think the can was very large!!
  2. I have a good photo of the offending bridge on the Staffs and Worcs with the offender giving me a v sign. perhaps my camera was not macho enough
  3. Over the years I have experienced several incidences of having stones/conkers/acorns/fresh water mussels lobbed at me or else items dropped from a bridge. Of the more (hopefully) unusual Phlegm from Staines Bridge A plastic duck from a tower block on the Farmers Bridge flight A pair of underpants filled with mud (yes I did check) from the bridge at Marston Junction. Anyone else got anything exotic to report?
  4. The episode airing on Channel 5 at 2000 this Thursday 7th will, amongst other things, feature the Duchess of Cocklemoor in Langport on the River Parrett
  5. Potter Heigham Bridge on the River Thurne is a good place to watch this effect when the pilot takes hire cruisers through.
  6. A side fender? Maybe not, a bell rope perhaps.
  7. We were at Great Haywood for many years and found it an ideal centre for cruising routes. All necessary services together with engineering. Also a fairly decent farm shop and cafe. Hopefully the threat of HS2 has disappeared (for now?)
  8. I once sued a photographer in the county court citing the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977 and was awarded a reasonable amount. In the event he went bust and I got nothing.
  9. I've regularly seen batteries, Could never understand this. Over the years I have liberated many from the C&RT compounds and weighed them in. Went a long way to paying for new ones.
  10. Wednesday 25 October 7.00pm BBC2 from Tooleys
  11. Foam for Comfort always served us well www.foamforcomfort.co.uk
  12. The Wey & Arun has suffered this for years
  13. A few years ago we moored up in Macclesfield jus before the aqueduct opposite an old warehouse with flapping corrugated iron. There were quite a few boats there when we arrived but, by early evening, we were totally alone. What did they know that we didn't. We found out some time later when the prowler arrived. Guess it's all changed now with desirable apartments opposite.
