About Me

Hi,

My name is Daniel Hutchinson and I am 25year old Graduate Design Engineer working for JCB. I graduated in 2010 having complemented a 5 year Masters in Mechanical Engineering at Loughborough. I have a keen interest in all things mechanical as well as boats, engines and canals.

I currently live in Uttoxeter in Staffordshire and spend much of my time working or boating on a number of narrowboats including our own, EmilyAnne, a dutch barge style steam narrowboat build in 1991 by my Grandfather, as well as a large number of ex-working narrowboats. I also own and maintain an Westfield kitcar and am a founder member of the YWBS working network with others and to promote canals and working boats to the younger generations.

Having been promoted from Member to Moderator and then Assistant Administrator beforehand, I acquired ownership of CanalWorld forums from the sites founder Jon Belcher in 2009. Since then I have thought to continue the great work that Jon did and maintain the forum as the great resource that is has begun, developing and improving it as required.
