If its former owner of a few years back reads that I think they might weep.  It really wasn't in bad shape at all when they let it go.

What a shame!

It is.

Hope it doesnt end up as someones nailed together recycled type liveaboard now.

Came past the 2 puddlebanks historicals today, torrential sideways hail meant no photographs, but the butty is seriously compromised.

Those must have been there for years and years and each time we pass (once a year or so) they don't look any better. I once asked on here if they were abandoned and Carl T. indignantly replied that they certainly weren't. But they have never looked cared for as long as I can remember.

That's if the "Puddlebanks" are where I think they are: Oxford side of Braunston Turn? The two boats in question would be on the left as you head towards Oxford.

Has anyone mentioned this wooden motor on here before? It's on Facebook market place, don't know how well the link will copy but here goes!

The asking price appears to be £44,950.

Compared to the costs involved in restoring these boats £45k appears to be good value to me - apart from it being a Josher of course.

I have nothing to do with the sale of this boat, but like most 'historic' narrow boats I do know the owner / seller :captain:

Yes I thought so too.

A jolly good candidate for a full length conversion I reckon, given the current unfortunate trend for deconverting historic conversions.

It seems to be difficult to sell.  It's been reduced from £49,500.

It seems to me that many unconverted historic boats are struggling to sell at the prices they are first being offered for.

Actually if I think about it....

It also sees to me that many converted historic boats are struggling to sell at the prices they are first being offered for.

The same seller has had a converted boat for sale for some time, which has also been reduced a fair amount from the original price.

Repeat after me....

"I still don't need Birmingham, I still don't need Birmingham, I still don't need Birmingham, I still don't need Birmingham,....."

(I'm not convinced that this approach is working!........)

I'll give you fifty quid for Sickle, then you can buy Birmingham. Nobody needs three boats, obviously.....
