They built a dream

It looks as if someone else's dream was not the same as reality, it didn't last to long, 2 years

Regina | Hemelmarina

Built only 18 months ago with no expense spared. The previous owner wanted to create his dream boat and as such, there was no compromise in the build whatsoever. Commissioned from renowned boatbuilders Collingwood, Regina is a two bedroomed, oak-lined floating palace and could be your dream boat.

Looks very nice, and apart from food in the fridge there is no sign of occupation.

.... jacuzzi bath sounds wonderfull, in fact the only problem is being moored Iike sardines in a tin  in a marina, and the marina has some idea that one is going to give them £500 for doing damn all.

Near London I suppose, maybe "residential".

Says something about previous owner, who owns it now?

I like the 'Renowned boat builders Collingwood' it implies they build really great boats.

The sharp corner in steel at the base of the terrible pram hood is very nasty. One could do oneself a disservice hitting that on the way onto the boat.

Basically wrong it should be rounded orf.

Okayyyyy......

And right from the get-go they compromise massively with a bargain basement shell!

So people are slagging off the Collingwood shell as cheap crap etc etc , so what widebeam shell would be preferable , traditionalist widebeam haters need not reply.

A proper barge shaped boat would be preferable.

I believe Johnathan Wilson builds decent shells, and he (embarrassingly) does fatties too.

And £500 for transferring the mooring?

Money for doing sweet FA.

I don't think we can be too harsh, perhaps this is a new to boating type commissioned boat, it may never have been destined for cc or even occasional excursions, I wouldn't turn it down, if it came with a countryside mooring with power and water.

Lots of them, he was building Time of life for himself over covid lockdown, then the new owner wanted it so the rest is history

Maybe someone fell into the trap of thinking that living on a boat would be in some way similar to living on land .

The inside might look like a luxury apartment (I have not looked at the pictures) but the inescapable fact for inland boats is that the lavatory contents have to go up rather than down after use.

This is bound to lead to trouble as it is against nature.

I wonder why the owners are selling it so soon after having it built.

My guess is they took it out for a cruise and found out just what an unpleasant experience it must be to try to use it as an actual... boat!

Built 2021, so possibly commissioned 2020. People often forget how different the world was 3 years ago. No international travel. No socialising with others. Unclear whether  or when there would be a working vaccine, so how long everything would be locked down.

Perhaps not surprising that someone would commission something like this at that time.
