The Norsman shells were made by Hancock and Lane in Daventry. I believe most of the boats they built were steel hull and (complete) cabin. Rugby Boatbuilders had their hulls built by a number of different builders, but their individual style was generally different to the Norsman, having a deep top bend to the hull at the bows. If you're able to post a photo of your boat we'll quickly be able to see if it's that style. Generally their cabins were completely timber. I haven't come across one with the mix of materials that you say. Generally both H&L and Rugby Boatbuilders boats were of good quality, not "very cheap".
