  1. Never used to have to book Anderton, but you do now and pay an admin fee- as they can’t charge licence holders for passage.
  2. Couldn't get the link to work, but saw it via Leo's post link - long links to FB never work for me. Terrifying!
  3. The grief occurred in Greenwich reach near the O2
  4. CaRT have removed both tree and boat according the notice you link to
  5. I would definitely go out into Bow Creek - less exposed to weather and tidal currents which can both be strong round the Isle of Dogs, that's what a bunch of us did for the Diamond Jubilee Regatta. A very experienced colleague nearly came to grief trying to go in atf Limehouse from the Thames after the event
  6. Used 2 copies last week 2008 and latest, and old Pearson’s too. They all vary. How did the working boater ever manage? I also always print an itinerary out from Nick Atty”s excellent ac canal planner before a trip on a new cut
  7. Correct why would you also assume I wasn’t logged in to FB?
  8. Well I am on FB and here is what it reports: The page you requested cannot be displayed at the moment. It may be temporarily unavailable, the link you clicked on may be broken or expired, or you may not have permission to view this page. Not so stupid - why post so agressively???
  9. Me too - has the video been taken down?
  10. Try Middlesex & Herts Boat Services at winkwell
  11. You missed out one that is flown from most rural houses in the USA - the stars & stripes. We saw loads when boating up the the Hudson & Erie canal in NY State - perhaps the Americans are so insecure they needed to be sure and remind us we hadn't reached the Quebec border?
  12. or possibly stuck in and see if you can get off the mud
  13. I agree - their animated map of the history of the canals is also interesting - even if full of mistakes How about sending them some constructive criticism, such as OS grid refs so we know which hole they are talking about? from the midnight navigator
  14. Try soaking in vinegar and brushing. If that fails try borax solution
  15. See here: https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/media/original/24987-boaters-update-4-dec-2015.pdf
