I believe Shipman was involved in the early stages of the Rochdale canal restoration.

So rather than wonder why other boaters look like him, perhaps wonder why he looks like other boaters?

For obvious reasons I wouldn't have thought it would be a popular look, but every other boater who goes past seems to looks like this.

Excellent, you are so right (except me of course!)

As in every - get an eye test Mike...

Ok, I'm exaggerating, but a lot of them do.

Statistically speaking at least 35% of boaters look like Harold Shipman, so if it's not the ones you see going past then it must be YOU!

When the whole Shipman case kicked off some of my staff did a number with a press photograph of Shipman and the photocopier. The result was a 'photograph' which I would have arrested myself for

Why do so many boaters look like Harold Shipman?

hmmm - I do see the occasional boater who looks a little moudly and slightly decomposed - they mostly still have a pulse though

We were having a laugh looking at the family album. On seeing a school photo of my sister-in-law, I joked to her son that she looked just like another serial killer, Rosemary West.

He thought it was a brilliant comment. When she found out she was furious. Sadly no real sense of humour.
