A few years ago, maybe three? We were going down farmer's bridge and a well dressed, tall man started getting locks ready ahead of us. He introduced himself as, 'Jim' and offered to come on with us down Aston locks as he could get a train back. He told us he'd lived on a boat but that his wife became unable to manage any longer so they lived beside farmer's bridge locks and he liked to help people do the locks. I can't remember why but he gave us his business card before he left us, at which we realised who he was-Jim Shead, a thoroughly lovely man and we were thrilled to have met him this way. He told us that he was no longer doing the updating of the boat listing.

Hi all, We're back onboard and safely moored up outside the Marina. No issues on the journey or when collecting the boat, only saw 2 police cars and they were heading south on the M40 on blues & two's. (We were heading north ?) Can I counter this with my experience of Sainsburys. When all this problem started I got an email from Sainsburys telling me that their records showed I was over 70 years of age and would have priority for home delivery/click and collect.

We've just helped MIL complete the sale of her 45' trad NB, bought 27 years ago as a sailaway amd fitted out by my late FIL. A lovely boat, in very good nick - sadly too small for us to take on. The broker did a good job of managing the sale over the past month of Covid-19 restrictions and the result is a smooth (and gently-handled) sale with minimum stress for MIL, who is still grieving the loss of her husband. It can be done.

IMHO She doesn't have to go through the broker - she just has to (quite rightly) accept she must pay him. you should be able to get info as to who did the plating then and poss the opportunity to talk to the surveyor......... Got you back on track now...............?

Ain't that the truth! After the first couple of questions, I switch off/over, some of the questions, do lead you to wonder just how the questioner can understand what they have just asked. "How long is the lock-down going to last, and how will it be ended?" The only answer can be "Don't know,& we'll watch other countries, and (try to) avoid their mistakes." Will this satisfy the media? Unlikely, not enough absolute detail! Bod.

Some hard evidence, in place of your bald assertions and "deductions", could be very helpful. Xenophobic rantings are not.

It's very clear from questions at the daily briefing that the media goes well beyond holding them to account and into outright hostility.

You have to remember - people are already after their blood. They'd have been well derided for setting a low bar. They can't win. They have to be able to do the impossible, by many, or say, they want to.

This is completely incorrect information. You can buy a boat tommorow from Whilton, ABNB, RugbyBoatSales and others. You may not be able to view the boat prior to purchase, but this is not unheard of, lots of boats get sold to people on the other side of the planet with them having view of video, pictures and other things, and maybe more information sent by email(previous surveys etc) Deposit can be taken , and surveyors are still working....they can survey on their own quite happily. If the boat you have seen really does fit the bill, make a call, someones business may need a monetary influx and things might move.....just take your own precautions on self distancing and sanitizing etc.

We are in a national and global event the like of which we have not really seen before, and the story is still unfolding. Anybody who makes any predictions is just guessing. I can only offer a bit of wisdom here, if you want to do something then just do it, don't waste away your life waiting for prices to rise, prices to fall, or for some other event outside of your control to occur. .................Dave
