  1. We moored at Droitwich Marina for a year after it had just opened, when I was using the boat as a weekday place to stay whilst working in Worcester. I had the luxury of the mooring closest to the toilet and shower block, and was guaranteed a steaming hot shower (or even a bath) every morning! There was just the matter of the 20-yard dash from the rear deck to the shower block... a couple of times in snow!

  3. I'd say a drop from 282 to 219 was quite a difference! We drive with it in Eco mode all the time, and the car reports 94% economic driving, so i don't think that's the issue either.
  4. The biggest issue we faced on our trip from Northamptonshire to Penrith was the unreliability of the charging points. Over 2/3 of the attempted charges at different stations and suppliers failed due to a problem with the charging unit or it's connection to the internet. To answer an earlier question - yes I did read "the bumph" and as an engineer I quite understand the impacts of ambient temperatures and driving regime on the predicted range. My concern centred on a quoted range of 282, actual "normal driving" range of 237, which then reduced to 219 in Cumbria. If you experience a 22% reduction in range (r anything else for that matter) over what you were quoted, then I think it's wise to check that there's nothing untoward going on.
  5. We’ve been logging the predicted range of our Kia e-Niro over the past week as it went in for checks following some poor performance over the NY. We were in Penrith and the car was reporting 219 miles’ range but since we got back we’ve been getting 240 (of the “official” range of 282). The best Kia can come up with is that the reduced range predictions were down to the near-zero temperatures over the NY and more time driving on motorways and dual carriageways than is our usual. Apparently it’s behaving as it should! That said, it’s a cracking car and my wife loves it.

  10. At the risk of sounding a bit pompous, I don't think you should be asking ANYONE whether you should do it or not. It's your decision and your alone. Everyone else's opinion is just that i.e. theirs. Now, asking for advice as to the pros and cons - that's another matter entirely.
  11. No problem. You've probably worked out that we were up in the Shard. I did, however, get in a small amount of trouble for paying so much attention to the narrowboats when it was supposed to be an anniversary treat! ? Feel free to PM me with your e-mail address is you want the originals.
  12. Was this you, going upstream on 30th August?

  14. The seats spelt out "BLADES" as in Sheffield Utd - you can (just) make out "The BCEGI Stand" on the top of the Stand, which is one of their sponsors.
