  1. Considering our differences, the polite exchanges between myself and John compared to your antagonistic posts, deliberately trying to draw me down to your level, certainly says more about your balance than mine.

  2. Your welcome to look at their website that tells you what they are about, gives the latest news has a section on resources explaining your rights on Health care, winter fuel allowance etc. the only part you can not see is the social forum. Analogy look inside and outside the boat but if you want to see belowe the water line pay for it to be taken out of the water or go diving

  3. Well, actually if they are anything like me; they are more than likely concerned for the people who are paying fees to moor at Pillings Lock & the potential of them loosing their freedom to come and go as they please & also are quite interested in the outcome of this whole situation. Then again, they might just be interested in their continued access to that marina; if they are moored outside, they may well use that marina for the pump out facilities, water or fuel Let's not kid ourselves here "darling"; if PL is able to get off without paying the arrears to CRT, what exactly do you envision the long-term outcome being? I could easily foresee other marina directors looking at how they also could get out of paying the 9% to CRT & if I was at CRT I'd be looking at ways of getting back that lost revenue....gee now where might they turn to for that? How do you feel about your yearly license fee taking a good hike while Pillings Lock get out of their contractual obligations? End of the day - if CRT are not able to secure the money owed by PL it "could" have a bearing on all of us. Hence why there is so much interest from the general boating community. And again, if you read the posts no one has suggested any ill will toward the people moored at PL. I think you are trying to turn phrases relating to seeing Mr. Lillie get his comeuppance from CRT, into discord toward the moorers; which simply isn't the case.

  4. This topic has been a credit to this forum. It has allowed moorers in Pillings access to much information they would otherwise possibly have missed or been denied. It has allowed parties directly connected to give their sides of the story, whether under aliases or not. It has seen most of Pillings staff join as members, and perhaps they may take a slightly different view of their employer if they have managed to stay with it. And most of all, it has managed to stay on topic, be mostly well behaved, detailed and interesting..... and has also spawned two other threads, one also 17 pages long. Well done CWDF.

  5. Some day, we will have a thread mentioning the ACC that doesn't leap into the past, have founder members having to defend their position (or yawning), doesn't discuss the constitution or voting rights God, I hope that day is soon and we can start to see what the ACC is doing, not how it was formed Richard

  6. ...you actually are one of the more sane/balanced amongst us... I have to say carl, I sometimes find myself questioning this when you post ;-)

  7. What you really mean is you made it your accusation that poster on here want moorers to lose their moorings. I challenged you to find a post where this had been said and you can't find one. How about manning up, admitting you made it up and apologising to the board instead of jerking everyone about? I suggest your other claim that most moorers are happy with the management is made up rubbish too. You have a hidden agendum in my opinion, with your fabrications on here. MtB

  8. They told me they knew what they were doing and as long as I maintained speed and heading they would be fine - I am really not surprised to hear at least one of them has fallen in!

  9. What they can or cannot do is makes no difference. They will still do it and who is going to take any notice of you? Sure you could sue the chief constable if you have the money and time to waste. As for the cannabis, I'm quite happy doing coffee and tobacco but don't think it's worse than booze, certainly think my council tax could be better spent than harrasing someone smoking weed.

  10. .........And the bottle they took away marked "Dope" no doubt because they built those model aircraft where you need to paint it on to the paper wings! I might label my filled cassettes as "S**t!"

  11. 95%+ that is greater then 95% is what I would want a policeman to be before he came barging (no pun intended) on to a boat I owned. So it is OK in your view for any policeman to say there may be a crime on the other hand there may not but I will still go and search. For me the slippery slope to a police state if you allow too many powers with no controls e.g. search warrants.

  12. Sorry but I see this as a policeman doing his job. There was no mention of bullying or confrontation in the OP

  13. The police can do what they like if there is enough of them there. Ask the coal miners. MtB

  15. I have seen one of these new installations and to me it is no better than the usual installations . My comment about it is that it has been designed by a committee and is masquerading as a boat safety item . Boat safety should follow the golden rule KISS and be a meaningful and sensible check list . The BSS is getting more expensive every year and will become a millstone around boaters necks as they come up with more petty safety items to add on it.

  16. Not on the winter moorings to my knowledge but Alan has been very supportive of CCers and attended the first CCers meeting in November 2012 that was held at CRT Head Office (just for the sake of clarity ACC was not mentioned at that meeting either)

  17. A bit like a connection fee is for the permanent right for many marina based boats not to have their access to the canal obstructed by a boat that decides to moor across the marina entrance, you mean?

  18. Phew! Clean bill of health. He did manage to put us off copper coat though! He isn't impressed with it. So just an epoxy primer and some normal anti foul for now.

  20. It's all in the companies' balance sheets. I'll say it again: QMH have no fixed assets. QMP have fixed assets of £2.57m QMP has a long term liability (mortgage?) of £2.75m Find the lady!

  22. What is it with a largish section of posters, who try at every opportunity to find why CRT shouldn't be allowed to act in the way they do. Strangely it is always ways they raise money (or get debts paid) that they want to prevent.. I know nobody wants to pay more for their boating but the sad fact remains unless CRT continue to raise more money the canal system will not improve. In fact it will probably degenerate. Do the posters who continually oppose every move CRT makes want that?
    1 point
  23. That describes what CRT can do within the scope of the NAA. Essentially, it says that even when there is an agreement to allow a connection, CRT can close that connection when it is operationally necessary. The situation now is that the agreement has ended. CRT don't rely on the agreement to permit them to close off the access. They rely on the absence of any agreement to allow them to maintain the canal as they see fit without reference to somebody who has no rights to a connection.

  24. page 81 & counting. As on page 1, the problems at Pillings are purely down to Mr Lillie Junior. End of! I do sometimes struggle with all the fannying around a subject, when the basics smack you straight in the face from the outset. I hope this person gets what he deserved as many people are obviously concerned & upset. Am I the only one fed up with this now? If the owed money is not paid forthwith, then shut him / it down & close access! £180k FFS!

  25. Actually Jesus personally affected a very small number of people in a very small part of the world. It was the formation of the christian church and extremely aggressive marketing that led to its success as the predominant superstition in the world. Get a Roman Emperor on board and your laughing. (Edited to add: Preferably not Caligula)

  27. Analogy I'm interested in buying a boat for sale at £25k. I go to the broker and say to him/her, I might want to buy that boat for £25k. The broker says give me £25k and it's yours. I say to the broker, I'd to look inside the boat to make sure it's what I want. The broker says "but it's a boat!" take it or leave it. For an association to say "We represent your interests and support you" is not enough for me. I want to know what they're like inside.

  29. It's a safe bet that the female moorers at Barton Marina aren't laughing too hard at the thought that one of their neighbours has been filming them in the toilet and then, for all they know, sharing those videos online. Or at the thought that other boaters are (metaphorically) pointing and laughing at them. I'm sure no malice is intended by anyone here, but surely a little sensitivity to the fact that these women must be feeling upset and violated wouldn't go amiss.

  30. Well it's certainly something to look into.

  31. Well - it is likely that the access road will be the only BOAT (or whatever it is now called) going into and out of the Marina come April

  32. All I want is a close family member of mine, as a newbie to live out her dream on her newly built narrow boat without all this mess having took up her liveaboard mooring's very recently....I like to protect and look after my family unlike the Lillie's However, I have contacted Paul Lillie directly who refuses to speak to me, and has banned me from Pillings facebook page...for what? Speaking my mind? What gets to me is that he constanstley states 'oh all the boat owners on the marnina are happy' funny how the comment from some folk are duly missed..... ''As a moorer at Pillings may I say thanks to all those messages of support - we are not all mugs but honest folk who decided to moor here in good faith. There is only one thing wrong with Pillings Lock Marina and that is Paul Lillie - I fervently hope that the Liquidators use all their powers against him (including criminal prosecution if possible). I have already made arrangements to move elsewhere but there are many who are far more exposed than myself & my sympathies go to them.'' ''I'm aware of what's happening Rachel. Paul Lillie is an arrogant fool. " it all comes back to bite us on the bum " did he really think any of believed the crap that came out of his mouth at Friday nights meeting. Wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him. He doesn't care about his berth holders, doesn't support us, so he isn't going to change now!!'' So as you now have blocked me from your personal FB page aswell Mr Lillie Jnr I would like to reply to your last message to me 'Practice what you preach' on here Resign, get out and let a properly assigned director who know's what they are really taking on, take over the runnings of the marina...those that the moorers can trust... I can't practice what I preach because I didn't sign on that dotted line and agree to the terms and conditions to run Pillings as a director...you did
