  1. I think the approach taken by contacting C&RT was simple & effective. Not everything has to be a drama. I have previously done the same & in all my dealings with C&RT & BW before them, found them to be excellent.
  2. Having read the arguments I still side with what we already have. However, I think the debate is worthwhile. License fee Mooring fee (online or Marina)- personal choice or CC. I appreciate there are not always moorings where you want them. Insurance BSS We have an online mooring with C&RT & AGREE to pay their levy . If we chose to have a marina berth you pay the rate the owner sets for it. Over complicating the process would vastly increase the administration costs. You cannot tailor a system to suit everyone's personal circumstances. The basic argument is what is 'fair'. People will differ on this until the cows come home. For what it's worth, I think I get value for money.
  3. we have a boatman & love it. Please note we have never has a squizza so cannot comment on that. With our back boiler it also heats 1x rad in bathroom & fin rad above the bed under gunwhale. Main fire box keeps the saloon & galley toasty, a combined 20ft. MTB's review on the Boatman is very fair IMHO & useful for guidance. He was spoilt for 24yrs by the sound of it.
  4. time to visit the 'middle isle' at Aldi. Buy a decent head torch & spare batteries. Hang the torch next to the exit door. I NEVER go outside the boat in the dark without one, especially in winter. Glad you are ok.
  5. Hi Pennie- Sometimes you just have to make an investment. This weekend on our boat has been great! Cold outside, Boatman with back boiler heating rad in bathroom & fin rad under bedroom gunwhale & piping to the expansion tank at the stern. Nice & warm. We had ours professionally installed & the key I am told is the elevation / level of the piping etc (cannot offer any more tech than that but it works a treat). I was sat listening to music with a glass of red with Missus Sonic. No TV, just bliss. Get a new one. It will be worth it as a stove on a boat should be too hot to touch with the ickle eco fan spinning like a good un as MTB stated. Boatman stove gets a vote from me, especially now Eddie has upped the spec again. Our boat is 40ft btw with stove in the middle. We get 20 degrees+ easily.
  6. East Europe Lady. If you will not provide a full description of the boat with some photos please stop wasting my lunch break!
  7. I am in the really like it gang. Thanks to Mr Moore for the history bit.
  8. our mate has a 7.5ft cruiser stern & fits his custom 'Harley chop' on it. Extra weight at front added. A push bike should be easy
  9. Ajna- Don't bother. Looks like some on here have a barrow full of excuses for him. Like others have said, it would be totally different it he was moored next to them.
  10. Jeez, has Jeremy Corbyn's fan club taken over the forum. Some peeps need to jump back onto Planet earth & stop sounding like 60's hippies. Not paying taxes...... right on Wolfie, power to the people. Give me a break.
  11. Fine response. Agreed on 'Hawkwind' though. So he should be able to do what he wants but not have a day named after him
  12. He probably cannot get over the fact that he was brought up being made to listen to Hawkwind & Jethro Tull. For this reason alone he should be allowed to do whatever he wants & have a day named after him!
  13. It's definitely 'Chinese airspace' out there today, so get the fire going........ A 'nip in the air' for sure. Coat....................................................
  14. If I slept fully stretched out I would think the Co-op would be knocking at the door very soon. We have a 4ft cross bed. I'm 5ft 8 & Mrs Sonic is 5ft 4 (nearly) & Dog 2ft 1. Not a problem for me or Dog, but......... She would like it 5ft wide, with a teas made, TV, balcony, maid quarters........... I love our boat!
