It was closed the first time we went past. I think its new management now, we stopped there January this year and had a good meal and decent beer.

I ate there last night with my wife and kids. Meat free burgers were excellent and the fish n chips also very good. Was busy, lots of reserved tables, staff very pleasant. It was recommended to us on the way back, passing earlier in the week I didn’t particularly think it looked all that great. Actually much nicer once you get off the boat and walk back over via the bridge.

We had drinks and meal in there last year not long after new owners had taken over, good food, good beer, good service. It was quiet but business looks to be picking up as it should now it is well run.

After reading the title I thought it was going to be about some dodgy arse pub to never visit 🤣 🤣

Like the Anchor at High Offley?

I've been there many times and always tried to like it, but finally concluded I just don't.

Same here. Lovely pub, shame about the beer... 😞

And the unpredictable opening times, and general contempt for the paying customer...

Ooops, got a bit carried away there!

Funny you should say that...  Thanks, you've helped. :)

In the winter of 2010 I was iced in outside that pub for a couple of weeks. There are worse places to be stuck of course, the trouble was that at the time the pub was only open at weekends.
