I don't think you properly understand living on battery power and the need to keep them fully charged - especially with lad acid batteries that a Wilderness is likely to have. You say that you want a washing machine, so I suspect that you also want a fridge, and if the boat has a petrol engine that virtually demands and electric fridge (Boat Safety Scheme regulations). Are you going to use a computer aboard? If so that is more electricity. Then people who ask about washing machines for convenience may well be thinking of using a microwave, slow cooker, or air frier. We simply do not know what you have in mind so you were advised to make sure that you can keep the batteries charged. We don't know exactly what you mean by washing machine, do you mean a simple 12v camping twin tub (where will you store it on a tiny boat) or a mains automatic, which is likely to be fussy about its electricity supply. None of this is your fault because you can't know all the intricacies and got you's waiting to trip you up. Bess find out before you buy a boat. Maybe that is because this is a boating forum, not a van life forum. I find that comment an odd one to make. Unless you have a mooring that allows a shed, or rent a space in a storage facility I don't see how you can have storage space off the boat. CaRT and other boaters are likely to get upset if you start storing stuff on and obstructing the towpath. How you set your boat out is up to you, if you want a van life but afloat you know how much space there is in the back of a van, so go from there.
