I think that analysis rather depends upon what you think the business model of all those barbers and the pub is. I suspect that at least some of those barbers do not make their money from haircuts, but why they are allowed to continue is beyond me - apart from the effects of austerity.

Surely if 25 turkish barbers can all make a living in the same street the one remaining pub in 5 miles could? Or is it more folks dare'nt go out these days at night. "Clubs" in city centres are swamped at night. When i drank in pubs it was because i wanted to meet my friends. Im billy no mates now so never go. Plus the cost. Taking my grandkids for a meal once every 6 months wont keep them afloat. Cheap beer No telly No music walking distance = heaven Expensive beer Loud music Sky sports 24/7 Miles away = stay at home
