Another BCN day boat conversion on eBay, but seems expensive at £70k:

Fexk8n magic.

£70K, no plumbing or gas, or hull history...

"Oven can be seen working"...brings his own gas cylinder, pipe, regulator  and passes the bsc like magic, ...

£70K for a boat without a single decent camera shot, did they have clingfilm over the lens for the entire shoot, or was the humidity non conducive for photos.

Sorry, buyer beware, dont be drawn in by the dream...

6ft 11in beam eh?

That seems unlikely....

An inch missing off the end of the tape measure......

I like the bit about pointed at both ends so can only run an outboard!

'Most of the hard work has been done' - must be a politician in training, and that gas fire is a real safety feature. Although to be fair, 95% of that £70k is key money for the Hemel mooring.

When I read things like that in adverts I always think "why don't you finish the easy bits then?".  It's like car adverts which say "Easy fix to pass an MOT" which leads to the question why didn't they do it if it was that easy? 😄

Looks like a super ser catalytic heater maybe with wheels on

Last one I saw was on a boat on the tidal thames, that the owner wanted insurance for. It was on a mud berth.

I made my excuses and left.
Rapidly.

Looks like an ordinary cabinet heater to me. Bloody disaster area as far as gas safety is concerned, far worse than one of them (now banned) catalytic heaters.

A self contained gas cylinder heater on castors (I think they all were on castors), and a generator at the end of the passage. Small one, probably petrol powered.

Many years ago we were looking around boats for sale, and we entered one to view the accommodation and I smelt gas. Someone must have manoeuvred themselves past the gas stove in the confined space, and inadverently squeezed and turned a knob on, probably with their backside. The boat was full of gas up to about knee level. We carefully left.

Does anyone know if Yarmouth sold? I know it was for sale about a year ago by the family of the previous owner who passed away, but I've seen another advert for it recently on Apollo Duck and am trying to work out if it's up for sale again within 12 months, or if it never got sold originally and it's still the previous owners family selling it?

This post from a few pages back suggests it's the new owner selling it due to health reasons.

Maybe it has an Achilles' heel.

For authenticity despite the fact it was a butty I would like to see a RN or National in there. HR2 is a powerhouse and air cooled so no water issues plus plenty of noise but for me it does not cut the mustard.

Also while in critical mode I was like 'the tunnel light seems too small and the swan neck rams head is wrong'.

Plus it has a weed hatch which is terribly infra dig.

It’s water cooled and you do talk some bull !

Maybe the advert needs editing to add a W?

"beautifully restored Lister HR 2 m,"

I don't know it is a broker but if it is I would be having words with them.

Apologies if my eye for detail gets annoying.

Well if you would’ve studied the picture of the engine you would clearly see it’s got a header tank and it’s watercooled just saying!

There is that !

I was agreeing with you.

I generally focus on text and tend to spot minor errors. I think the listing is probably supposed to say HRW2m rather than HR2m.

If you read the advert text the engine is a HR2 m which is an air cooled unit.

If you look at the pictures it does have the header tank but not everyone will look at the pictures.

is there a watercooled HR2?

Sorry yes my fault when your sat in the back cabin on your phone sometimes you miss things out . I have changed it on the add . And once again sorry

In my view it is a better Boat with a water cooled engine.

I didn't mean to be a nuisance but It could put people off.

No that’s fine and every one is entitled to there opinion, if not what a sad world  I just get a little hot and bothered when people on here have a pop . I’ve been an engineer on the canals since the 80s . Had at least 10 historic boats plus all the new ones I’ve put on the cut . With out people like me the cut would be filled in a turned to roads lol 😂

That is very admirable.

Shall we now discuss the placement of rivets on the GU style counter crafted by Roger Farrington?
