Ebay vintage engine sales

Actually about 58 hp, not 32 hp (you multiplied when you should have divided!), so a fair sized engine.

You're right, a Kw is smaller than a horse, I overlooked this.

I was struggling to see how it all weighed three tons too, given my mythical 40hp engine would probably weigh about a ton. Now it all makes more sense!

Unusual three cylinder engine here with a generator thrown in. Not sure of power output but probably a tad heavy for a narrowboat.

The only reference I can find to the marque is for the LE and M models, but they both use Bryce injection pumps and this appears to have a CAV one.

That looks nice, the same seller had a Ruston VQ generator listed last week.

Comedy price though, £12.5k.

Or maybe not. What does the team think?

Yes a few thousand over and that assumes the parts other than rings and liners aren't worn/unserviceable. Shame the pictures only show it part completed.

Nice brass rings on flywheel and air intake though rolleyes.gif

He does say something like 'sensible offers considered'.

Some sellers do put on unrealistic prices hoping they will get sensible offers off ebay & don't have to pay the sellers' fees.

To be worth anywhere near that sort of money, it ought to come with good evidence (pictures and measurements) of the condition of internal parts which weren't replaced. Maybe electric start as well.
