I see the "London  white" look extends to houses.

That interior is dreadfully antiseptic, especially with no furniture to soften its appearance.

Why does it come with it's own motorway traffic camera?

Its to watch the Druids dancing on the field at night of course!

On the Monty, could you get a mooring there? I doubt it.

Canal is narrow there. You'd have to dig yourself a lay by.

Stink from food factory. Very busy road.  Is the concrete bridge still there? I don't know if anyone has access over it.

Are the donkeys gone?

What used to be "the donkey field", isn't it?

If there is no road access, how did the caravan get there?

Looks to me like the original property has been split into 2 or more smaller units.

I guess calling it " Lodge " enables the original named to be retained in some way.

Saw that on Facebook, said no chance of a mortgage so cash only due to no road access or services

I read elsewhere that it is mortgageable, but that you would need a substantial deposit.

So, much like the Kings Lock Tearooms property, that also has no road access.

Fancy a South Stratford barrel roof lock cottage, the one at Bucket lock is for sale.  You will need deep pockets though!

By the left.

Mind you it's rather larger than it would have been when a lock-keeper occupied it: the estate agent doesn't know how much bigger, as he refers to it as "eight bedrooms, six bathrooms" and, a few lines below, "six bedrooms".

We just came past, the original cottage is perhaps 5% of the floor space.

I remember that house back in the 70s when it comprised only the barrel roofed bit and a small lean-to. It was occupied by an elderly lady who had spent most of her life in India. By the time we met her she was a bit confused and not really coping with life - early stages of dementia probably. After she left it was empty for quite a while, before the enormous extension was built.
