Be aware as well of any battery monitor shunt, connected to the negative side of the domestic batts. Connect the leads to the battery terminals, not to anything downstream of the shunt. I am likely to have to do this soon. The start battery is struggling now, if the engine hasn't been run for more than a day or so. Eight years old and only a 60Ahr one, so it has done well. Hopefully will last long enough till I get to the next big town to pick up a new one. If not, I'll jump the engine from the lead acid load battery for the second alternator and not the LiFePO4 house batt, which might object to the high current draw. That's only a year old and has lead a pampered life. You can do subscripts and superscripts with the new forum software!
