As far as I can tell, the sensible, moderate position that the Greens are now beyond the Pale for going against is this. Everyone knows Israel is a violent, genocidal state that exists by attacking it's neighbours and dispossessing indigenous people inside and outside it's borders all the time. That's OK and perfectly fine, but we never say it out loud, because of the holocaust over eighty years ago and it is our ally in the Middle East. We share intel and buy weapons off each other, which is great for our manufacturing industry and they only get used on irrelevent brown people far away. That's the carrot. The stick is they have a huge lobby in the UK, who traditionally make life hell for any politician, or journalist who points any of this out. So everyone in establishment circles instinctively learns early on to treat the country with kid gloves, if they want to have a career. The Greens saying the quiet bit out loud is a bit of an Emperor's new clothes moment. They are now just a little too big to dismiss as irrelevent cranks, as they would be before.
