  1. On a completely different tack, in the earlier posts with a picture of the MHS engineer working on a gas appliance, where exactly did he intend to use the adjustable spanner in his hand? As a retired engineer past qualified in gas safe (LPG and Natural gas for residential, commercial and industrial, NOT boats though), Refcom, and OFTEC, I was taught that engineers use spanners sized for the application. Adjustable spanners were for amateurs that didn't possess a decent tool kit.🤔
  2. Watching with interest. Ive used Kurust on a 1950s meddings pillar drill restoration with good results in the past. Different environment in a workshop. Patch painting rust spots on my boat this year I used jenolite then a decent spray primer. 6 months later rust coming through the primer. There was no top coat applied and I'm trying to contain rust spots at the moment not apply a new topcoat. I want to be sure localised repairs work first. A neighbour had good results with Zep but crucially (I think) he used red oxide as a base primer. Not sure that the best route is not, where possible, to grind back to bare, red oxide then prime and paint after suitable prepping. Look forward to hearing other opinions. Edit. Some of the small patch repair I did were ground back to bare, taped and painted. Rust spots still coming through. Just added for clarity.
