Callisto in trouble

Passed Mark on Callisto around 3pm tied on the offside of rugely town moorings heading towards fradley, he had hit something under the bridge and has trouble with his rudder/washer sterngear?,He was also fully loaded not much we could do for him tbh hope he got it sorted.

He's a long way from his usual area ...Hope he is OK ...

Last year We picked up a tyre under that bridge and a month later we got stuck on several shopping trollies .

Callisto has recently loaded up at John Jackson's and at a guess is heading homewards.

I spent 90 minutes agound when leaving the visitor mooring north of the bridge at Rugeley about 5 weeks ago and I only draw about 2' 8" to 2' 10". Even then I was caught amidships rather than at the stern. Several boats tried to pull me off without auccess. Eventually 2 shafts 3 passers by and lots of revs were successful. One passer by told me , somewhat gleefully, that there was some form of ledge about 2 to 3 feet from the bank for about 20 yards. He also said and i quote "You're not the first and won't be the last" He was obviously right.

yep he was fully loaded, pointing in the direction of fradley, hope he managed to sort it.

I'm hoping likewise that it's sorted ok. Hopefully only the rudder lifted and was cooperative about going back . Paws crossed.

Yes. We met him at Wychnor on Wednesday evening, and again at Derwent Mouth this morning.

 

Apparently the rudder had come out of the cup at Rugeley. All is now fixed.
