We are at Compton on the Staffs and Worcs, heading north and then turning right along the T&M.  Are we likely to meet a fuel boat?

I don’t think you are,

but could be wrong,

Roach came through Brum the other day, but I don’t think he goes that far up S&W anyway before turning off,

probably best to use Oxley Marina/yard on the way,

cash only mind,

I dont think anyone’s took over the Cov either, should you be turning off there too 🤷‍♀️

Four Counties Fuels go down as far as Great Haywood. Try them see the you coincide.

Thanks Glen.

Oxley Marina isn't mentioned on CanalPlan AC.  Where is it?

Thanks.  Gotit.

Only cash! I don't keep that much cash on me.  I will have to get it later.  I've gpt 72hrs of motoring left in the tank.

It’s about an hour or so from Compton, just before Autherley Jn.
But yes, don’t look for a marina 😃it’s really a yard with pump on side of canal.

I’ve a feeling I paid them by bank transfer - if you have mobile internet banking. Best to phone ahead to check though.

Cash only, last time I was there

Absolutely cash only!  I asked as I passed through.

Not an immediate problem.  I do like supporting the fuel boats, though.

Hi folks, I wonder if anyone knows of a fuel boat that passes through Rugby?

Or alternatively, a marina/yard that sells coal, somewhere between Rugby and Braunston?

I believe Midland Chandlers sell coal at Braunston, but I'm hoping I can get some at Rugby.

I dont want to backtrack to Rose Narrowboats, and if necessary I can pick up a bunch of 10kg bags at a local supermarket in Rugby.

But the ideal option would be a fuel boat through here soon.

Sadly I think the lock13 site might have passed on to that great server in the sky...

Working fine for me.

Dunchurch Marina on the way to Braunston. Try to pick a day with no wind 😀

Armada Boats isnt far if you dont mind going back through Newbold tunnel and waiting until Monday.

Hire Base at Clifton- was eye wateringly expensive last time I really had to get some though..

You can pop into Dunchurch Pools and get what you want, probs cheaper than Midland.

Possibly Barby but then they have that funny one way system with a bridge to shift on the way out AFAIK.

Thanks Ian, I'll have another look-  I pressed on past the serious objections of my antivirus thingy, but it said the site was gone.

Thanks for the heads up. I was thinking Clifton tbh as they are less than a mile south, but I'll check the current prices first

ETA - just called and its £22 for a 25kg bag.

As far as I can recall, I think thats a tad steep but not totally outrageous, compared with recent prices.

Dunchurch sounds good if its cheaper than Clifton.

And I dont fancy anything that needs me to shift a bridge. I feel like I've done my fair share if I just shift the coal!

The http site I linked to is there, but you have to click through the safety warnings. Your AV may not allow you to do that. The equivalent https site does not seem to exist.

It went through earlier today. I met it at Stretton at 1230 image.png.693b489d96a752a88ffd3cd60bb9ba53.png
