Graham Davis
Since the subject matter as stated is much too wide a field, I think we might need more information. Edited October 17, 2018 by Graham Davis

As in... are you buying a canalside property? Or in dispute with CRT over CCing? Or wanting to sue a boatyard for a poor hire boat holiday? Or something else?
magpie patrick
I'd echo what Graham and MtB have said, are we talking.... Rights of navigation? Liability of the navigation authority? Liability of another boater liability of a non-canal third party? liability of a boat builder/broker? Mooring rights? Need (or otherwise) for planning consent or other regulatory consent? I could go on with this list, each would need their own specialist Edited October 17, 2018 by magpie patrick

I would think that their billing department would send out thousands of invoices to said quays, wharves and unmanned estuary bouys, just in the hope that 5% of them (CRT target for non-responsible possible accounts) will be paid without question.
