Thanks all.... and thanks to everyone on the forum here for all the help and encouragement along the (rather long two-year!) road....

And thanks to Dan for keeping the forum going - without it i wouldn't have a scooby what i was doing (still don't really! But u kno wot i mean!)..

Well done.

As you're a-tremble with excitement, she'll be Mary Anne With The Shaky Hand, then.

I am, i properly am!

Watch out anyone in central london for the next week - there will be a 136 bus being driven from Grove Park to Elephant and Castle by a blonde bird with an insane grin! (but only for a week - then we're outa here!)

Sounds like a spectacle worth seeing. Are you intending to keep the insane grin when you go on the boat? It could be a useful recognition feature.

Recon i won't have a choice, Mr Athy! biggrin.pngbiggrin.png

You realise you will have less space on your boat than your bus? Assuming its a double-decker!

About the same as the single-decker i lived in in the '90s... smile.png

That's a mad thing too - tell folks you live on a bote (i like MTB's spelling of this too..) and it's all - "oh, how wonderful! How twee!"......

Tell 'em you live on a bus and they start looking for the flaming torches and pitchforks.... ninja.gif

Funny ol' world, innit?

Congratulations - VERY pleased for you... I can imagine your grin from Ear ....................to .....................Ear ;-)

Fanx Quaysider, I recon it goes all the way round the back of me head as well!

We were really really lucky considering the market at the moment, beautiful boat at a great price and an absolute gentleman of a private vendor too... No brokerage to go through, and I get a transfer with work too - with a few weeks off to move her to near Nuneaton and sort some family stuff.. Just got to reduce the "stuff" in my life - which feels pretty good too to be honest.

Went through my tools this morning and I have loads more useful stuff than I thought too - but far far to many sets of Alun Keys - go figure?!?!

Looks a really nice boat, you've done well! I'm sure it will give you a lot of fun and pleasure.

Thanks Nick, can't believe i got the all porthole trad i always wanted - now brace for the usual numpty electrical questions! She's a Piper hull, not too shabby owner fit-out either; but we've got work ahead making her into a comfortable liveaboard.. Engine's only just turned 1000 hours (Barrus Shire) and the driest bilge (ooh missus..) i've ever seen. cloud9.gif

Two of the happiest days of your life: the day you buy your boat and the day you sell it! Congratulations - I hope you enjoy the bit between as much as we are. smile.png

The day we sell Mary Anne may well be the day we "retire" to European Barging - or at least that's the sort-of plan!

Congratulations! The day we bought our boat (which happened to coincide with my birthday) was one of the most exciting days of my life. That's a lovely looking boat - enjoy!
