My boat was broken in to last night

How annoying and unsettling. Never had a boat broken into but I definitely felt "violated" when our garage was broken into. A boat would be so much worse.

Last night my boat was broken in to in Sawley cut. Stirling 24 volt pure sine wave inverter , jcb chain saw, 32 inch TV stolen, I am complety gutted, waiting for the police to come now. I am heart broken

I am very sorry to hear this, and hope that police investigations may have a satisfactory outcome. I too would be gutted if somebody had broken in to my boat.

Seeing what goes on at the marina I would be very reluctant to leave my boat their unattended, but it could happen anywhere. I fear as the marina ramps up security more boats on the cut will be targeted.

Kath and I were talking about this only last week, I wonder if the ex camoboat crew are out again.

 

3 boats were broken into on the long term moorings above Buckby Top lock last week overnight as well.

Terrible news- hope they didn't do too much damage. Were you in the marina or on the towpath?

 

There was a spate of issues at Sawley marina a couple of years ago and mention of inoperable cameras in the marina- but it seems to have gone very quiet- about the same time that the Camo boat was sectioned 8

Stealing your inverter is over the top. I imagine they did a lot of damage cutting the wires to get it out. Something like that points to people with boating knowledge.

A friend of mine actually found the camera stolen from his car on ebay. Proved it by the fact that the idiot hadn't taken to photos off the card!

Keep an eye on fleabay and other sites that sell stuff like that, you may get lucky.

Sorry to hear this. Like Matty, I was wondering about the ex- camouflage boat crew, given the area. Trouble is we now have no idea what they are working from, if indeed they are about again! Anyone nearby who may have seen anything?

I feel very much for you, must be awful to find. I am also concerned as it seems likely it is someone doing up or repairing a boat. Definitely a concern if in that area.
