Well it most certainly isn't the front end of a Bantock.

Were all Bantocks horse boats? It looks like the back end of a horse boat or a butty.

I'm never quite clear on what a Bantock actually is.

My take

Too expensive for a deconversion

Bit crap for a liveaboard

Wooden forward cabin

We thought about it prior to CYPRUS and immediately agreed it’s not the right boat for us

it’s not really a cabin boat as the conversion. Kn my opinion. Is shyte

and it is not financially viable to change or reconvert to working trim

They're asking £45k.

Seems ambitious for a wooden butty or horse boat (not sure which it is).

it's definitely a butty, small Ricky. they have done work on it, and had work done at Bates' boatyard. 45k is about 30k too much for a wooden boat that is up and down like a yo-yo....... regardless how good most of it is, you only need one bad bit, but then again, the same goes for metal boats.....

Maybe they are of the mindset that money spent maintaining a boat raises its value by the amount just spent. Some boaters (and car owners) have this point of view.

It always strikes me that steel deteriorates at about one tenth of the speed of wood. A wooden boat can rot through and begin to sink in three or four years while an equivalent steel boat takes 30 or 40 years ro do the same.

Yeah I agree....

Too much for a wooden under clothes " conversion " ..timber backcabin and survey done by a fella not heard off so much in working boat worlds.. 🤷

She's worth whatever someone will pay and vendor accept and Id be interested but the asking price is just to high to start the conversation..

The stern of Achilles, £69,500

Although only a small part is 'historic', it's still a nice boat.

Yes, from memory of the two parts on the dock the bulk of the "straight bit" ended up in the other boat.  I think there is very little of it in this one.  So the bulk of the rivets will be faked.

Not bad looking, though.

Funny looking bow though!

I remember looking at this when it was cut. Once the pointy bit that holds the top rudder pintle has been cut off and rounded over, and the bottom pintle and the anser pins cut off and ground flat, the stern end of a Small Woolwich butty is virtually identical in shape to the bow.
