  7. Saw-id! 🙂 It turned out to be a dodgy fuse holder near the batteries that the builder installed years ago when they fitted the original Eberspacher. When I replaced it and fitted the Webasto a couple of years ago I spliced into the same 12v cables and left that fuse & holder in place. Anyway I did a few continuity tests this afternoon in various places and discovered it was faulty. Replaced and all good now - thanks for the advice.

  10. A curiously accurate quantity. Had I cracked open 2 x 1L bottles of ATF, I'd have charged for two litres and left behind the remaining 0.4L.

  12. Don't feel too bad, unfortunately it seems to happen far too frequently. How anyone can claim 14 hours for a service and injector change is beyond me, unless there was more work than listed. Even if they had their own pump room and overhauled the injectors themselves it still seems way, way too much time - especially as they seem to have caused an oil leak or failed to find it and fix it. I would just observe that when I tried to help someone avoid what looked like a setup for a similar experience a week ago I got insulted and berated for my efforts.

  18. Dog poo bins removed, no boats, lots of dog poo fairy bags hung in trees....CRT cant have their cake and eat it. If you are encouraging dog walkers, and providing maps, you cant exactly say, we are removing dog poo bins and someone else should provide them.....can you??

  20. And you mounted it using mismatched pozidriv screws?? Surely a brass plate of that vintage would have justified brass roundhead slotted screws (with the slots lined up)!

  23. Personally I doubt it. I also think it could reduce the number of hires taken out, I certainly wouldn't want a holiday where i couldn't relax on board with a glass of something.

  25. Long ago after a near-unbelievable amount of time spent planning and designing, we crammed a full sized shower and separate bedroom into Starcoaster's 30ft Springer. Matty fitted it which I think took him about three times longer than he expected...

  29. Thanks all and special thanks to everyone who has come forward and also to those who have provided feedback & suggestions. Much appreciated, Just a quick reminder; the closing date for applications is Sunday 9th April, 2023 as to give everyone an opportunity to apply should they wish. Everyone will receive a reply by PM and successful applicants will be contacted again shortly after the closing date. If you haven't applied and wish to do so, feel free to come forward and drop me a PM. Don't worry, we're not expecting an essay or any kind of formal application - just a short paragraph outlining your interest in the role and anything you feel that may be relevant. Thanks again and wishing everyone a great Easter weekend. Cheers Rich

  34. I think that you can get silicon rocker cover gaskets for those engines. They do not dry out and distort like the cork ones do, but still stick it to the rocker cover. It is just two but "bolts" by the lifting eyes to undo to get the rocker cover off. Be wary about overtightening the fixing bolts because you can distort the cover.

  36. It's not really a change of position though. As per the original announcement, Calor are not going to be supplying any new cylinders in these sizes. All they are doing is allowing them to wither on the vine, rather than actively withdrawing them from service.

  38. Yes, that was it. I just needed confirmation that it really was a push fit and not some fiendish hidden circlip. No height discrimination intended, no horses or dwarves were harmed in the moving of this control. Thanks!

  39. We use something very similar in our submersible at work in the ballast tanks. It does have a variable resistance to indicate how full the tanks are.

We press "Submit Reply" and nothing seems to happen so we press it again (and sometimes again and again and again), but each time we press, it posts our reply and the other forum software 'feature' strings them all together into one multiple post. 47. As far as I can tell from the photos the metalwork of your existing frames looks to be OK. In which case what is the point of replacing it with new? I think your best course if action is to remove the existing windows, clean them up, replace the rubbers, push some sealant into the joints if they are open, and then refit. You can do them one at a time so you can judge after doing one if it has been successful.
