Odana
If it is stress, it might be worth buying some decent catnip. My cat used to freak out and pee/crap when travelling by car. Also got jumpy sometimes when out cruising if near dogs, kids etc. I discovered that a catnip-stoned cat is a chilled and happy cat! Not sure if that is approved medical advice but it worked for us as a temp measure!

Yes, but they can supply special pellets for the cat tray and a pipette for collection.

Phil Ambrose
Wrong.Deja Vu was a little 2 Cylinder car manufactured by Citroen! CT Wrong! You are thinking of the classic Citroen "Deux Chevoux" ie 2 horse referring to the engine power, design for French farmers to throw a pig in the back and drive across fields and pave' to get said pig to market.Clever way to produce a cheap car, "we don't need window winders, throw them out and we'll have flaps" we don't need flashy sprung seats, throw them out and we'll have canvas deckchairs" So they ended up with the car that could drive pretty much anywhere and was cheap. Sarahr
All cats and dogs should be neutered/spayed to prevent unwanted pregnancies and anti social behaviour . What a strange thing to say, if this was to happen, wouldn't dogs and cats become extinct?!

Phil Ambrose
What a strange thing to say, if this was to happen, wouldn't dogs and cats become extinct?!Not really because you would only be able to get cats or dogs from a reputable licensed breeder. The fact that there are thousands of unwanted cats and dogs in rescue centres is proof of this. Rescue centres are busting at the seams plus all the animals that are placed with fosterers till homes can be found for them without whom the animals would have to be put down. Many times we, as fosterers cared for as many as 6 dogs as did others because the rescue centre had no room.So yes they should be neutered. Little Else
What a strange thing to say, if this was to happen, wouldn't dogs and cats become extinct?! Not a strange thing to say at all. Phil The downside is that many "reputable" licensed breeder's do Pedigree breeds as this is where the money is, and these do have health problems especially in later life, where a cross-breed is a more healthy animal. Reputable breeders ensure that their dogs have a good lineage by putting the dam to a suitable sire to ensure that problems caused by in-breeding don't occur. When buying a pedigree dog the purchaser should check the pedigree and things like hip score etc.Breeding problems usually occur with "puppy farm" types of breeders Phil
Wanted
When we moved onto our current boat the cat started pissing on stuff, he's neutered. We thought he was being territorial and hoped it would stop. It got to the point where the cleaning was becoming really quite expensive and we hummed and harr'd about keeping him or not.. Alas, we took our pet responsibilities seriously and decided not to pass the buck. A visit to the vets confirmed, as has been said a urinary tract problem. With a simple change of diet and some really cheap meds for a bit all was sorted. We now have the best ships cat in the world!

With a simple change of diet and some really cheap meds for a bit all was sorted. We now have the best ships cat in the world! Hi wanted Our 2 cats both have this problem and are on a special diet which we buy in dry food form. This problem was diagnosed several years ago and the vets recommended a special diet in the form of a dried food. However what they recommend is really expensive stuff from Royal Canin around £5.00 a kilo. After some research we found some at a reasonable cost, It's called Sanabelle urinary economy pack 10kilo bags. We buy 2 X 10 kilo bags a time for £56 inc delivery. We've just noticed though that now, the Pets at home brand the Vetenary Advanced Nutrition fresh chicken 4 kilo is 2 X 4 kilo bags for £20.00 making it just £2.50 per kilo, so now cheaper than our bulk buy supplier. We always make sure we never run out. We did about 6 months ago, the cats missed about a month worth of special diet biscuits and one got ill (urinary tract problems) we fortunately spotted this quickly knowing the symptoms and got him to the vet immediately, even so the cat still required emergency care and had to be kept in for 2 nights the result being the vets bill was well over £500 I do hope the OP took the cat to the vet! As if a cat has this problem it's extremely painful for them and they can die if the urinary tract is completely blocked. b0atman
After the Panorama programme the pedigree breeding standards where supposed to have been amended to stop deformities in dogs . Also why are dogs tails still being docked I thought this was illegal ? Regards letting cats roam to do their toilet elsewhere why is it not alright for dogs to do the same ? Cats can be kept indoors with no problems for their health so why insist that they go out at night to fend for themselves and find warmth and shelter where they can I have seen "loved" cats out overnight in the snow on freezing winter nights.
