  1. Past hour
  2. Once off purchases of HVO in 20litre containers cost me GBP43 plus delivery. Not crazy prices, but yes, much more than red diesel.
  3. I think you’re right it’s a JD . any idea where to get spare hoses. Any parts?
  4. Cheers Joe mooring at Barlaston today halston fuel boat appeared whoopee fuel N coal sorted should bump into her in four weeks too .
  5. That may be why on mine the long fixed sliders on the roof are stainless steel, and the plastic ones are strips under the hatch where they can't move or buckle because they're confined...
  6. I had some form of plastic runners on a previous boat and although they were slippery the buckled badly in warm weather.
  7. The tractor moulded hoses are very likely to be specific to the tractor, but you might be lucky enough to find a car spares place (not Halfords) who will try to match them up. Also, hoses to and from the skin tank and calorifier will NOT be Beta or JD parts, so a decent chandler should stock them by the metre. Filters and fan bets should be available on-line or from car spares places, as long as you have the filter number. they c n be cross-referenced to another filter/belt manufacturer.
  8. You can also use the rugby club across the road, they're happy for berthers to use the bar. Their breakfasts are cheap! Plus they run an annual music festival in August and give people in the marina free entry. There's always bridge 35 at the top of Hanbury for diesel, or if you're coming the other way then Crafted also does diesel. Sometimes on a Saturday morning / Sunday afternoon Hanbury locks can have a bit of a queue with boats off the marina, we usually plan to leave Friday evening if we're off just for a weekend trip.
  9. This morning 2024 Ladybower reservoir. Compare 4Feb1996 24Jan2009 (#2) 9Feb2014 11Jun2021 19Nov2021 21Nov2021 1Jan2022 30Jan2022 14Apr2022 14Aug2022 19Nov2022 28Nov2022 2Jan2023 30Jan2023 10Apr2023

  11. "For clarity if you have an electric bike with a ‘twist and go' throttle (that can be propelled without pedalling) this is NOT a legal e-bike, it is not allowed on towpaths and can be confiscated by the police if done so." "It's not currently legal to ride an e-scooter in any public place, except for where rental trails are being held. We've not allowed any trails to take place on towpaths. We issued this statement on e-scooters in 2020 This makes it clear that e-scooters are prohibited under our bylaws and that we will not be allowing e-scooters to be used on towpaths unless it can be proved that it is safe to do so. As yet, we have not seen such evidence. Loads of both on the towpaths (and pavements and roads) though, the rules are obviously useless without any effective enforcement ... 😞 (though as discussed earlier, it's difficult to see any way CART could actually do this in reality...)
  12. I seem to recall you can get spares from tractor dealers as the base unit was also used for rural applications. I’m sure it’s been asked before?

  14. Today
  15. That's why I suggested Reed type plants, Yellow flag iris is useful if the soil isn't too dry but there is plenty of choice along that theme.
  16. Hi I have a beta tug engine a bd3 . Is beta the only place for spare parts like hoses or any parts come to that.

  18. I did it the other way round. Kept the brass runners and replaced the brass sliders on the hatch with HDPE versions. No help for the OP, but it is an option. A friend had access to a machine shop at the time and copied the brass ones using HDPE rod. HDPE has almost as good friction characteristics and is safer to machine than PTFE, while being cheaper to buy.
  19. Oops yes HVO. Thanks for the positive advice!
  20. It probably changed it into tempered glass...
  21. There are very few No Cycling signs but as you say compliant bikes are OK FAQs | Canal & River Trust (canalrivertrust.org.uk)
  22. FWIW, I was told yesterday that Chrome flagged my website as unsafe. How the blankity blank can a text website with absolutely no way of interacting with it, apart from browsing, can be "unsafe" is beyond me. Especially as Chrome is Google, who in my view are one of the biggest exploiters of individuals privacy on this planet. I am sure it is the vested interests trying to force every site to be HTTPS, rather than HTTP. If I were a conspiracy theorist, I might conclude Google are flagging it as dangerous because it does not carry their adverts. Firefox makes it relatively easy to set an exception, so it does not flag HTTP "dangerous site" messages once set. If Chrome wants to play silly beggars than as far as I am concerned I will save myself about £200 a year in hosting and domain fees and delete the site. Thanks to our member, who I think is @Redhawk106, who contacted me and kindly offered to sort it out, but I am too old to jump through hoops imposed by third parties like Google and other browser vendors.
  23. I bought a spare glass for the wood burner at home after the winter, I laid it still wrapped in corrugated card in the bottom of the wood burner for safe keeping to not get broken. Someone lit the first fire of the autumn on top of it thinking it was just some corrugated paper I had thrown away. It was still OK
  24. I was told mine was PTFE, we had a lump left over at work and I thought that will be handy one day and it was.
