Only the road was reopened, The Truck is still there.

Which makes more sense, I can’t seeing the police having the equipment to get the truck out anyway.

Only 13 days left before its overstayed. Or are the rules different there?

The brief KL.FM article I linked to says:

Officers had to close off the road while they recovered the lorry from the river.

Personally I'd rather believe our man near the spot (nbfiresprite "Somewhere in the Fens") than a local radio reporter, as all professional journalism seems to be done down to a budget these days.

Or are they both right, the police recovered the lorry then threw it back like anglers do?

Yes, nbfiresprite is backed up by the Cambridgeshire Times:

http://www.cambstimes.co.uk/news/lorry-plunges-into-west-norfolk-river-driver-escapes-unhurt-1-5246289

under the heading "Dramatic Norfolk river rescue". Now the doubt seems to be which county it's in.

Their photos appear to show that the side of the lorry has been removed, presumably to get the cargo out and reduce the weight to be lifted. They say a company from Lincolnshire is due to start work today to get the vehicle out.

However there looks to be enough width of water that a boat would get by, so maybe it isn't a stoppage until the lifting begins.

The county boundary does some twisting and turning round there, but Outwell and Well Creek are definitely in Norfolk.

ML moorings are only 36 hours so should be ticketed in the morning!

Surprised they haven't put some anti-pollution booms around the truck.

A boom was put across the river, downstream.

Depends if the Well Creek trust have the powers to enforce. On the Fenland DC controlled moorings in March, the time limits are not enforce by the council. Some of these freeloading Bargee Travelers have been not moved in over a year.

This truck went into the Burgundy canal where we moor. It was loaded with wine and as soon as the police left it was like whisky galore.

There are some pictures on Facebook of the truck, the one in Well Creek, being pulled out.
