How do you tell them what not to put in it?

I saw this sticker under the lid at Hampton Court station toilets.

Would it contain enough information

Ha - very good! I used to tell hirers, "If you haven't eaten it don't put it down - other than TP!"

Our old boat had a sign that said much the same.

Then some smart Alec popped up on here and asked 'did that mean you couldn't flush toilet paper down it because you havent eaten that~?

Some people.

I have been to places abroad where you cant flush the paper, they have a bin for it.

We have a bin for paper. Only for number ones though - number two paper definitely goes down the loo! Number one paper is burnt on the stove - double win - less room taken up in the loo plus free heat :D

in the countries that don't allow paper to be flushed away, generally there is a (LEFT) hand-held or bidet style spray that is used to clean the offending areas.

the paper is only provided to dry the area, and to dry your left hand.

Muslim and some other traditions.

probably much more hygienic than wot we do.
