Starcoaster
Oh pooh! Any more rope that would be suitable for mooring lines? I'm also after a gangplank/boarding plank kinda thing of some sort, as well as my rather optimistic list from before! Ally
Remaining rope is the reel of white and the box full posted earlier, plus some other bits added since the photo. Might be able to find you a something to paint up for a plank? Bazza....drool away....you may be needing that giant loo roll! bizzard
The two red coloured toilet rolls in the cardboard box are much more efficient for the job anyway, so efficient I've had to sit on an inflated truck inner tube ever since I tried that brand, as if I had piles. Ally
Couple of porthole liners, oak, but 'seconds' I'll measure them next week. Amounts of 3,6,9 and 12mm off cuts oak faced, some maple, full board of maple 12mm ply...all oiled and back varnished. Not sorted the timber and ply yet though, and still need a bit to finish mine (I'm getting first dibs on it!!) But there will be some left, plenty probably. johnmck
This topic really saddens me. We have such happy memories of Beacon Boats, visiting the workshop and planning our build. To see such an honest company close is such a shame. But that there were more people like Ally and Neil involved in the industry. All the very best to Neil and to you Ally. I sincerely hope that your skills are not lost to the industry. It seems ironic that whilst an honest company that went so far to make their customers dreams come true, ends, another not too far from you survives, despite shafting all. All the very best. cheshire~rose
Dave and I are hoping to get down there the weekend of 26th/27th April. While we cannot pick up any huge items (we will be in a 2 door focus! if there are little bits and pieces that people want to give homes to that they would like me to collect for them while I am there I am happy to do so. They can either be collected from me in Chesterfield or I may be able to arrange for collection from Calf Heath on the S&W. or if you are in no rush I can bring them to the next banter I attend or a historic boat festival or something like that.
