DHutch Posted March 12, 2013 Author Report Posted March 12, 2013 Oh bum! Yes, couldn't have put it better!
matty40s Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 so is nb CWDF now continuously mooring on the old server, or are we just waiting for the stoppages to end? ...and is Nicknorman still trying to peep into the back-up server?? 1
Guest Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 Good luck for tonight. Curiously, whilst people seemed to have connectivity up till 11:30 last night, I was getting 503 responses from around 3:30 yesterday. The plug was pulled early and then briefly restored....before the big switch over. http://www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=54999&view=findpost&p=1041334
carlt Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 Extremely frustratingly due to unforeseen issues we have not been migrated onto our new servers. When it comes to any migration it is absolutely essential that you get all your ducks in a row.
RLWP Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 When it comes to any migration it is absolutely essential that you get all your ducks in a row. And make sure that the ducks you are following are not sedentary species Richard
Guest Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 Explains why I have had a couple of 'server errors' this morning..
Neil TNC Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 Ah...,proper boating!.... The Pitons, St Lucia and Montserrat.
DHutch Posted March 12, 2013 Author Report Posted March 12, 2013 Please note I will be making a second attempt to have the forum migrated this evening having spent the day understanding the issues that occurred last night.
Ange Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 Please note I will be making a second attempt to have the forum migrated this evening having spent the day understanding the issues that occurred last night. Can you tell us what time please so we can psyche ourselves up for another trip into the abyss? We also need to know what time to dive into the chat room before the doors are locked.

We also need to know what time to dive into the chat room before the doors are locked. Yes Indeed. I am in the process of rescheduling it for 2100h, aka, half an hours time. Apologies for the short notice but I feel this is the best options. Daniel
RLWP Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 Good plan Daniel, give yourself plenty of time Best of luck, see you on the other side Richard

NB Alnwick Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 Hard to know if its up or down anyway! I am posting from the Canary Islands and it is clearly up down here . . .
DHutch Posted March 13, 2013 Author Report Posted March 13, 2013 And we should be back online, all be it still waiting for the nameservers to catch up. Current forum url: http://5.77.47.171/~ggbqjfrf/forums/
alias Posted March 13, 2013 Report Posted March 13, 2013 And we should be back online, all be it still waiting for the nameservers to catch up. Current forum url: http://5.77.47.171/~ggbqjfrf/forums/ Dan - currently the link from the front page of the site (and my bookmark) fail because somehow an extra /forum is added on the end so it reads /forum/forum which goes to a 404 error. I can get in by deleting one of those from the address bar, but presumably something is needed to fix this. ETA thanks for all the hard work! Peter
