Hi anyone know of any mooring’s available near Boothstown marina

thanks in advance

Duncan

When you say 'near' to Boothstown do you mean only on the Bridgewater canal or would any other North West locations be acceptable ?

How far away is 'acceptable' ?

there are a few other marinas and a couple of  clubs (sale, Watch tower ? ) on the bridgewater so i'm not sure its a bad as some are making out.... although I've never tried to find a mooring (other than overnight ones !)

although as Alan says depends on where you want/need to be and how far the net can be cast....

The Bridgewater has a Platinum Licence which I think allows you to live on your boat. I’m sure the details are somewhere on the web site.

Good point!

Snippet from their website:

"What is a Platinum Licence and who is it for? Generally, owners of pleasure craft on the canals tend to stay on their boats for 2-3 nights a week with the occasional one or two weeks throughout the season. A Platinum Licence is an optional privilege licence permitting extended hours of stay on your vessel and use of facilities on the Bridgewater Canal, 7 days a week.

1. This Platinum Licence is to be read in-conjunction with standard BCCL Pleasure Craft Terms and Conditions.

2. Platinum Licence holders must observe local restrictions and not cause any nuisance.

3. The Platinum Licence holder can cruise the Bridgewater Canal, staying in a single location for no more than 28 days, before moving a minimum of 1km with no return in 14 days (this is controlled at the company’s discretion). Local mooring restrictions still apply, as signed and must be adhered to."

This might be an excellent solution for the OP. He might already have one given he lives aboard.

Residential moorings only at Preston Brook and Stretford Marinas though, nowhere else. Needing a grey water tank would exclude most canal boats though, especially steel narrowboats/wideboats...

Hi we are looking for a residential mooring on the bridgewater canal we haven’t got a boat yet until we find a mooring. We are looking around Boothstown marina as that is we are both working. We would even think of buying a narrow boat with a mooring.
thanks Duncan

Try getting a platinum Bridgewater licence without which you cannot live on Peel's canal. Then follow a unicorn herd to find a residential mooring.

You will find it very difficult.

Mods.   can these 2 threads be merged?

You need to report the two threads to get that to happen.

Unless a mod reads by chance. But they still might not know which other thread you mean. I don't either!
