How bads the frost this mornin where you are?

I really am very fortunate, I live on the lightly populated outskirts of Kidderminster, just a quarter of a mile from the main A449, which then takes me out through the Broadwaters area with its pond, stream and newly renovated water wheel into open countryside. My journey to work is almost totally rural with 6 miles of (well gritted) A road and then 5 miles of (ungritted) country lanes, to the very outskirts of Wombourne, which itself is slightly separated from the vast sprawl of the Midlands conurbation.

This morning it's absolutely lovely, although the lanes were tinged with white and a tad slippy in exposed areas. The Staffs & Worcs is lightly skinned over at Stourton, then I cross the Stourbridge canal, which is also thinly sheeted with ice. Running parallel with the S&W, there is some ice in Ashwood Marina, and it's a shame I didn't have time to stop and take pics at Greensforge. There is a minimal strip of ice along the centre of the channel, but it doesn't touch either bank, feathering to water about 2 - 3 feet from the sides.

Unfortunately, I'm now at w**k and must begin to earn my keep. but it's the sort of morning that lifts the soul.

Minus 2 again here last night. Minus 1 at the moment (08:30). A bit more ice than yesterday. Don't think I will bother going for water until mid afternoon as taps will be frozen!!

I love this weather - long walks with the dogs looking for wood then back to a nice warm log fire on the boat :P

I too love this weather and wish I was in front of a log fire rather than in front of a PC at work trying my best to get motivated about a budget meeting in 10 minutes.

Pearl Harbour here. The ducks are sitting on the cut not in it. Tunnel Hill Road, part of the old horse route over Blisworth tunnel, was closed by the police yesterday morning.... "It's like an ice rink, mate". Haven't ventured that way this morning yet, but today is if anything colder....

currently living in brighton, no frost this side of the South Downs.

Twas more than a tadge chilly at Apsley this morning...condensation turned to mini icsicles... car showed -2.5 deg this morning..

last night was a struggle to slide the rear hatch open... minor momement of disquiet as stood there shoving to no avail...it then popped..

Water stand pipes also well frozen last night as two of us found out...when we tried to connect the hose... (we should last ok to teh w/e but...)

We beat a retreat to the pub for a couple of pints in front of the log fire - looking forward to getting the range in soon and getting some central heating going!

still the cloudless skies make for great star watching and Europes got the best snow for a decade... now where did I leave the ski's

With the weather the way it is, I'd like to remind those with water cooled engines, you'll either need to drain off or add anti freeze.

I thought they should all have anti-freeze in anyway because it also performs as a coolant in summer? Does anyone actually run their watercooled engine without anti-freeze/coolant?

it was -3.5 in Redhill Surrey this morning. Redhill is nearly always the coldest place in the South East, not sure why. The roads were icy which always confuses the traction control on my car. I like the frost though, it feels fresh and clean, then I get to work and feel tired and dirty!

Err I think liam's comments were aimed more at those who have RAW water cooled engines rather than sealed tank systems.
