Arthur Marshall
Very low pounds (some about 2 foot down) above Wheelock on the T&M. Might be general lack of water or because someone left every top gate open from there at least to Church Lawton. A few boats getting stuck. dogless
Pre covid, so 2018 or 2019, we were stuck for two days at Rumps lock waiting for water levels to be increased in the pounds up to Wheelock. We were visited regularly by C&RT staff who assured us they were doing all they could to feed water down from Bosley locks. Apparently the main feed for that stretch of the T&M is Todbrooke Reservoir and Coombes Reservoir. If that is true, there is no wonder water is low at present and will remain low until 2025. Rog Surely the main feed SHOULD be from Rudyard Lake via the Caldon Canal? Anything coming from the Macc will be small by comparison. I understand that Rudyard cannot supply too much as affects yachts/ fish/bathers/water sports, blah blah.Us NBers will just have to put up and shut up.
