stagedamager
Has anyone ever come across Puck 2 stroke diesels engines, made in Gdansk to East German designs in the mid 20th century? They produced a 2 cylinder 24hp model designed for lifeboats but they are somewhat elusive on the Internet for information. There used to be a joke about their cars "You steyr and I'll puch". Austrian humour, I guess.
BEngo
Have you tried an enquiry to Stationary Engine magazine? I have no knowledge of Puck engines, but I would bet that someone there does. Guesswork Gdansk, so a Polish company, probably. Not sure how that helps unless you can Google in Polish for "engine company Gdansk". What does Puck mean in Polish, or German? N

magnetman
Did you search Google for "silnik puck"? Silnik is Polish for "Engine". Quite a few results including a RetroTraktor forum which might be interesting. Edited January 11, 2021 by magnetman

David Mack
Nice! Water cooled, I assume, but I don't see any plumbing. Does it come with a gearbox? And where is it destined to go?

Does it come with a gearbox? And where is it destined to go? Hi David, It is water cooled, there is a twin gear water pump at the rear of the engine, to the right of the screen with the yellow hose on the input. the second pump chamber was designed as a bilge pump which is what we will use it for as well. The output is direct from the heads and running out a 22mm pipe to the top right of the video. It does have a gearbox, just out of shot, which is as long as the crankcase, on a direct drive, swinging a 20" prop. It is destined to go in our newbuild when we ever get round to starting it........ Former Anderton Company motor "Norway" - History & Heritage - Canal World Hope you are well! Kind regards Dan
