  1. Todays update from CRT https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/notice/14486/gloucester-lock says Gloucester Lock will be reopening Thurs 2nd May 8-00am Yipeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Braided hose connections are ok but they are usually smaller bore than their nominal 15 or 22mm and restrict the flow. Use full bore flexis.
  3. On an RFA ammunition ship I was on in the middle of the Indian Ocean it was the fire alarm system in one of the holds which was on fire!!
  4. They also stop the screw chopping through individual strands as it is tightened.

  6. Take the tube & the fitting both ends to the local hydraulics company, perhaps Pirtek as in post # 2 and get them to make up a rubber hose with swaged ends, much less fragile than nylon tube.

  12. If its at Droitwich Spa marina they will be able to haul the boat out on their slip, if its in Netherwich basin its not far & only a few locks up to the marina.
  13. When we had our Liverpool Boat stretched at RW Davis at Saul the cut/join was staggered for strength.

  20. The flexis come in different lengths so if you are getting a new one, get it longer so its not pulled round in such a tight bend.

  22. We have a Huawee Mifi thingybob I got from 3 on Pay as you go. On the G&S, the Severn & a month up & down the Avon to Stratford over the last few months we've never had a problem with connecting with the thingybob balanced on the inside window ledge. Whether that is because it is the Huawee or because the 3 signal is good in these here parts I have no idea, it just works.
