Yes it’s very often because they come onto the forum, ask “rhetorical questions” ie questions to which they already think they know the answer, or at the very least know what answers they want in order to reinforce their opinion, and then get a sulk on when not everyone spits back the answers they want. And then their narcissistic attention-seeking gene kicks in and instead of just quietly going off and buying a tape recorder so they can be entertained hearing the sound of their own voice giving the answers they want, spend considerable effort telling everyone how unfair it all is, how everyone is wrong and they are right, stamping their feet moments before flouncing off in a dramatic exit stage left. Or at least I think that’s it because to be honest they are forgotten very shortly afterwards.

I find the "when did you stop beating your mother" efforts quite amusing.
For the record (and for the forth time) my position is -
It is unfair that anyone who does not bring a boat onto CRT waterways should have to pay licence fee.
- and I have never suggested that this unfairness can or should be corrected.
I can't understand why anyone should get themselves so worked up about this.

But it's not a boat licencing authority so there's no equivalence to two LAs. The moorer has freely accepted the contract the marina operator has offered which includes a condition that the moorer ensures their boat has a CRT licence. The marina operator has complied with his NAA, they know the boat is insured and has a BSS (if required) because CRT have checked that for them. The moorer has their mooring and can then use the connected waterway as many times as they like or not at all. If the latter then that's their choice, just like me choosing not to use the library/swimming pool I have made a contribution towards. Where's the unfairness?

Perhaps CRT should review the discounts available and remove some of them, why should someone with an electric drive and a whacking diesel generator to charge their batteries get a discount.

I know it's all personal taste, but I've not seen an uglier building both inside and outside, for a very, very long time....

There are no trolls on this forum🤔
A troll is one who by definition makes one inflammatory post and then sits back to watch the fallout from that one post and does not engage further.
Being rude and catty is not being a troll it's being rude and catty🤭

This is what I work around but the crane driver is the one with the experience to determine whats what.
The 100 ton crane we had at the marina actually 'alarmed' lifting my 11 ton boat because it was at almost maximum reach

In this case tucked into the waistcoat.

Top button done up was typical of the time, Mallard's crew on attaining the 126mph record for steam traction, July 1938.
Stopped the clothes from flapping around but allowed for freedom of movement.

..yes, I see that
so Higgs should really be moaning at the marinas for charging him for use of the water when he’s already paid a license to use the water?
not the other way around,

I don't think marinas are trying to deceive anyone.
They are a boat park usually with some facilities and often offering other services.
Without a navigable waterway the marina would not survive. Without the marina there would be fewer boats required to pay license fees.

Posters here are just worried for you as most newcomers don't have the skills and or knowledge or persistence to redo these boats, and theres a very long history of people starting and not finishing them.
Sure some folk may make some money but add up all the hours spent and cost that out and its probably seldom a moneymaking venture, in comparison to spending that time on other ways of earning money.
Posting a few videos to try to prove experienced boaters with many backgrounds working on their or their customers boats wrong is probably unhelpful.

I see this as a problem. CRT publicly understate the amount of income they receive from boaters. This makes some boaters think 'Oh, I should pay a bit more'. Then there's the indirect income which would reduce or disappear if there were no boaters.
