  1. It will be a few years yet. Based on the picture above, Toyota have still got to develop seats, doors, windows, a roof and all the rest of the car. It won't be a practical solution till they do. That's the trouble with announcing a new technology too early. 😀 Those batteries look uncomfortable to sit on for long journeys and there doesn't seem to be any way to steer.

  5. Are you using Paypal? If so then please be aware that I was nearly scammed in this way when I sold a van a few years ago. Hopefully they have tightened up on it by now so that it doesn't happen these days, but it would be prudent to check. If you are not then my experience might at least be useful to any others who are selling a large item this way. I advertised the van on Autotrader and after no interest for a few days, I suddenly had an enquiry by email which quickly turned into a sale. The buyer said he wasn't able to come and look at the van because he was houseboun

  12. No. Bank transfer to a separate account to our day to day account and will then be transferred straight into a different savings account.

  14. Ive just had to sort a new supplier for my mothers house which meant going through her electrical consumption for the year and out of interest I thought I would compare it with what we have used on the Hook up for the boat as we have been onboard more or less continually since getting back on the mooring in Sept which is unusual as we are usually working away a lot. Turns out its fairly similar for a year 3 Bed House with one occupant 2221 kWh, (Actual reading) Boat with 2 occupants 2777 kWh (Usage is estimated for the year based on reading from Sept-Feb) Boat

  15. Well we are six races into the first to seven wins into the Prada cup to decide who the challenger is. Until the second race yesterday things were all going the Italian's way. Team GB Brittania seems neither to like light winds and going round corners, loosing ground each tack and gybe but above very light winds seemed to be able to match the straight line speed of Luna Rosa. They had never led in all the legs of all of the races until last race. Yesterdays second race in slightly more wind, and the right jib choice this time suited Team GB better, and this rewarded them with th

  20. They had a Pandemic Preparation exercise in 2016, and discovered how woefully unprepared we were. I dont think they took much notice of it, as evidenced by the PPE fiasco, along with the Test and Trace fiasco, along with locking down to late and opening up too early, and not closing the borders. It looked like they had actually learned their lessons when they gave the vaccine job to an organisation that knows what it's doing, but then they half heartedly closed the borders almost a year late, allowing people from red listed countries to mix with people not from red listed countries

  24. Retrospect? The only people who swore blind there wouldn't be a second or third wave were the government. Everyone else with half a brain and any understanding of viral transmission said endlessly there would be, especially the experts that Gove said we had no need of. Nor would anyone not innately corrupt have given vital jobs (such as track and trace) and huge sums of money to completely untrained people (but political supporters) with no medical knowledge. Nor would most people have spent a fortune setting up huge multibed "Nightingale" hospitals while being told, again endlessly, that ther

  40. I bought this boat from GHBS I look at all brokers including the much maligned Whilton as they also get good boats. I saw this boat after first ringing them and asking what they would accept for it cash the same day. They got back to me within an hour with a bottom price. I went to see it at 11am and paid full money for it at 1120am. A cracking good boat with a few minor points that I saw that needed addressing. The bloke I saw at the brokerage sat in his chair with sunglasses in his hair and should have had a Stetson on and have a horse tied up outside his GF was there a nice girl cant rememb

  41. Boats are indeed selling immediately. I spoke to the broker I use last month re selling mine and he cant get any boats and they all fly out. Like eveyything in life buying a boat is a risk. Snooze and you lose. A buyer in the hand is worth ten maybe buyers. Cash is King.

  43. my main concern is that there is no visible means of retaining the springs and shocks. That will make it doubly uncomfortable to sit on those batteries.

  49. In a corner of Friesland near Heerenveen, where the waterways had dwindled in status, this 250 tonne capacity vessel suddenly appeared. The single soul who guided it came out of his wheelhouse to scratch with a bit of glasspaper at some miniscule blemish in the paintwork while waiting for the bridge to be opened, a remarkable structure in itself, with tilting overhead wires. I wondered for a time whether to post the top photo on the 'March of the Widebeams' thread to see where it might take us, but decided against.
