According to the BBC article "In an emergency it can be controlled by humans offshore using satellite and internet communications."

 

Obviously this will rely on the remaining passengers alerting the humans offshore. ?

Are they in rowing boats or inflatable ducks??

I would rather the humans controlling but in an emergency were ONSHORE.

It would be interesting to see Wightlink use this ferry on the Portsmouth/ Fishbourne route on a summer weekend!

Indeed there is. I would imagine Victoria of Wight has now passed all the tests and is probably now working with the rest of the fleet

I suppose that a cargo ship with loads of consumers full of millions of pounds worth of stuff could be protected from piracy by putting high voltages on the whole ship.  Trouble is that it would leave a swathe of dead creatures on its wake...

 

Suggestions on a postcard, please.
