Sawley has for years been just one of those places you drift by, maybe a short stop, but not for long.

Now,  however it has become the destination of choice for the discerning boater with its fantastic facilities and attractions making longer stays more enjoyable.

Listed on Trip Advisor by happy folks are....

1. Unlimited time on the pump-out. Once you have they key you can empty and rinse to your hearts content.

2. Plenty of space to turn so you can go up and down in long ovals all day long.

3. Lots of boats to look at.

Trouble is they dont alternate!!!!! they are always on fin red :( Its beautiful day here today and the marina is holding a fete thingy and there is a stall selling beer B)

You can let the steady drone of the traffic on the M1 lull you to sleep at night. I slept one night on a boat at Sawley last year ... sort of. But after the first few nights there you'd get used to it.

After 2 months you would struggle to sleep without it......

We slept at a friend’s farmhouse out in the wilds of Wales once. We both dreamed of mobile phones going off all night... it was the sheep!
